HTC One US Developer Edition RUU And Full ROM ZIP Posted, ROM Addicts Breathe A Sigh Of Relief

Do you hear that? It's the sound of a thousand HTC fans modding the crap out of their shiny new HTC One Developer Edition smartphones. The Taiwanese company just posted the RUU (ROM Update Utility) for the American version of the One DE, giving would-be tinkerers a safe way to restore their devices if something goes boom. You can download the RUU at HTC's Developer Center. We'd post some direct links for you, but HTC is insisting you go through the Downloads page.

HTC: Sharing RUUs And Sense-Based ROMs Is OK, We Just Want The HTCRUU.com Domain

Over the past couple of weeks, there's been a bit of a kerfuffle surrounding HTC and its shut down of HTCRUU.com. The general consensus across the Android community has been quite understanding in some respects – after all, HTC has every right to protect its intellectual property. The problem was, however, that in the original takedown request, it also demanded that all hosted RUUs and Sense-based ROMs be indefinitely removed, as well.

[Download] Full RUU For The EVO LTE JB Update (3.15.651.16)

Nearly a couple weeks ago, the Jelly Bean (4.1.1) update to the Evo 4G LTE XL BBQ began to roll out. By now, we think it's safe to say that most or all of you have it. If you don't, however, or if you've already updated, flashed another ROM, and want to get back to stock, then maybe I can interest you in a nice RUU?

As a side note, if you're HTCDev unlocked, you'll need to relock your handset or you'll get an error while trying to run the .exe.

[Leak] HTC Droid Incredible 2 Gets Its Own Ice Cream Sandwich ROM Based On Leaked RUU

It looks like another one of HTC's handsets (besides the Thunderbolt) has gotten a Sense-ified Ice Cream Sandwich ROM of its own – today, XDA user nitsuj17 posted a ROM for the Droid Incredible 2 (aka vivow) allegedly based on another leaked RUU from HTC. Readers may remember the Incredible 2 as being among devices officially slated by HTC to receive Ice Cream Sandwich "by the end of August," so this leak's timing isn't too hard to figure out.

[Exclusive Download] Full RUU Build 4.03.605.2 For The HTC Rezound

"Wait, didn't the Rezound just get an OTA update to build 4.03.605.1?" is something you may be asking yourself right now. And the answer to that is yes. Yes it did. We assume that build was some sort of soak test, however, as it hasn't actually started rolling out en masse just yet, and Verizon has been completely silent about the whole thing.

But this build is one more. Point one more, to be exact; so...

T-Mobile And HTC Haven't Forgotten myTouch 3G Slide And G2, Minor Updates Available For Both

These updates might not amount to much, but it's always nice to see official updates to older devices. I'm talking really old, like the myTouch 3G Slide and the G2, both released all the way back in 2010. If you're in possession of said devices and are not yet running a custom ROM with something more fresh than Android 2.2 and 2.3.4 respectively (why not?), here's what's coming:

  • Security patch
  • Improved software stability

Descriptive, isn't it?

The HTC Rezound ICS update finally started rolling out today, and what do you know - it looks like the same version 3.14.605.12 that we've been holding onto for a few weeks. Since the OTA version matches the RUU we have, we're releasing it for those who don't necessarily feel like waiting for the staggered update or want an ability to restore back to full stock, or simply want to roll their own custom ROM.
