Rumour: Google To Launch 7-Inch Nexus Tablet In Late Q1 2012

Late last year Google chairman Eric Schmidt commented to an Italian newspaper that "in the next six months [Google planned] to market a tablet of the highest quality". His statement generated much speculation primarily over whether Google planned on releasing a self-branded "Nexus" tablet or whether they would merely partner with a device manufacturer, such as Motorola, Samsung, or HTC.

According to a rumour from Taiwanese electronics daily DigiTimes, Google may be preparing to launch an "own-brand tablet PC...targeting Amazon's 7-inch Kindle Fire".

The ad seems to be the real deal (complete with the trademarked Best Buy yellow price labels), however we couldn't help but notice a few glaring spelling mistakes. Either the ad is a fake, which is unlikely at this point, or Best Buy needs to fire its current spell-checker.

Android Gingerbread, Next Nexus, Information And Speculation Round-Up

These last few days the Android blogosphere has been awash with excited spluttering, dubious rumours and hopeful conflation. Kicking things off was City A.M., a "London-based free daily newspaper that specialises in financial news". According to an article on their website, Google had struck a deal with the popular phone retailer Carphone Warehouse. CPW were to sell Google's next phone, the Nexus Two by any other name. Their position as a reseller of phones and contracts on most if not all networks in the UK and wider Europe makes them a logical choice, right?

While the screenie offers nothing in the way of price (other than "TBD"), the rumor mill's been there, done that, and pretty much confirmed that T-Mobile's Tab will be costing you $399 on contract and $649.99 off.

Cowon D3 To Come With Android, Bring Lossless Playback With It?

If you're looking for a small, great-sounding, non-Apple music playing device, two of the most frequently recommended players out there have been the Sansa Fuze and Cowon D2/D2+. With the Fuze just getting bumped up to the Fuze+, it's only fair that Cowon release an update of their own. Although it was only last year that the D2+ was released, a certification filing on the 28th of September shows that there truly is a D3 coming, and hopefully soon.
