Owners of T-Mobile's Huawei-made myTouch can begin anxiously tapping "software update" now – the carrier is rolling out a minor update to software build C85B839SP03. Among other things, this update fixes the myTouch device's "missing megapixel" problem, allowing the camera to "realize [its] full 5.0 Mega Pixel resolution."

The update also allows users to opt out of Carrier IQ, and brings a "compose" button to the Email app, and adds call-related bug fixes.

There may have been a bit of a false start recently, when a Sprint employee took to the community forums to announce that the rollout of Jelly Bean for the Nexus S had begun. Maybe the rep confused the Nexus S for the Galaxy Nexus, as we hadn't heard any reports that users had received the OTA for the older of the two Nexii. Today, though, Sprint has posted in its forums details on the upgrade, including a release date of today, September 11th.

  2. Bakersfield, CA
  3. Bridgeport, CT
  4. Modesto, CA
  5. Jacksonville, FL
  6. Omaha, NE

In addition to this, the following cities will all receive 4G LTE 'by the end of the year'...

CDMA-based Nexuses (Nexii?) tend to get the short end of the stick when it comes to timely updates. The promise of the Nexus is that you'll always have the latest Android experience just the way Google imagines it. While the international version of the Galaxy Nexus has had Jelly Bean for a while, Sprint's been left in the cold. Until, tomorrow, September 6th, if Android Central's source is correct.

Here's the email that a tipster sent in:

Owners of Sprint's One X-inspired EVO 4G LTE may be interested to know that they can expect a minor software update to begin rolling out over the air today. The update, which carries software build 2.13.651.1, brings the device up to Android 4.0.4 with Sense 4.1 on top, meaning the menu bar fix the HTC One X got a few weeks ago has arrived, among other things.

The update's other offerings include a fix for random browser closes, a minor Bluetooth fix, an updated version of both Google Wallet and Sprint's Visual Voicemail, and an LTE scanning improvement that should help users better find Sprint's burgeoning 4G network.

After ASUS' US-bound Transformer Pad 300 (TF300) got its taste of Jelly Bean OTA goodness – and subsequent full-fledged firmware download – owners of the tablet's international (or WW) variant were stuck furiously pressing "software update" in hopes of getting their own OTA. Well, it looks like ASUS has made dreams come true, at least across Europe. Just earlier today, ASUS UK officially put users on the lookout via Twitter:

It was only a couple days ago that we heard the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Motorola Xyboard Wi-Fi models would be rolling out. Now, Verizon has announced that the same update for the LTE version of the tablet is about to rollout to customers via an OTA upgrade. The package will be about 336.4 MB, so hope you're on Wi-Fi.

How often do you hear this? Sony has started to roll out Ice Cream Sandwich to the Xperia P ahead of schedule, beating its own date of August 19th.

According to a post on the Sony Mobile blog, the upgrade process is beginning today and continuing globally "over the next few weeks", so if you're an Xperia P owner, keep an eye out for any upgrade notifications on your phone. When ICS is ready for your device, you will be alerted, but Sony says that some users may have to use their PC Companion software to perform the update.

Last month, owners of Toshiba's 10-inch Thrive tablet were dealt a blow when the manufacturer announced that the tablet's official update to Ice Cream Sandwich would be delayed to "early Fall." This news came several months after Toshiba had initially indicated an "end of Spring" release target for the update.

After all of that, it appears that the Thrive is finally receiving its update to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich today – for real this time.
