[Updated] Motorola And Sprint Announce The Photon 4G: Dual-Core, WiMAX, Gingerbread-Filled Goodness For The Now Network

Motorola and Sprint teamed up for a press conference in NYC today, where they announced Sprint's newest beast of a phone: the Photon 4G. Check it out:

This phone was previously rumored to be "the Atrix for Sprint," but while the general look of the device is quite similar, the Photon seems to be more of an evolution and less a rebranding. Judging by the pictures, it also looks to be rocking the newest version of Blur (the same one that we saw in the leaked Droid 3 videos).

[New App] BBC News Worldwide Now Available In The Android Market For Users Outside Of The UK

A couple of weeks ago the BBC released its first app designed specifically for Android phones, but there was one problem - it was for residents of the UK only. Fortunately, though, an app was released this morning that caters to the rest of the world.

It looks and functions just like its UK counterpart, offering a nice, clean UI. You can easily share stories through various social mediums, email, and SMS, listen to BBC World Service radio live, watch videos, and personalize your home screen so you get only the news that your interested in as soon as you launch the app.

Who doesn't love Jenga? I can't think of a single person that doesn't like to drive themselves totally insane with anticipation playing this awesome leaning-tower-of-blocks game. As of... well, now, you can get that same intense feeling on your Android device, as NaturalMotionGames has brought this family-friendly game to Android.

Probably among the most important features of the game is the realistic physics. If you're going to play, you want it to be physically correct, right? NaturalMotion put a lot of work into making sure that each block is accurately affected by removing surrounding blocks, so gameplay should feel just like the real deal.

[Updated] HTC Flyer Digital Pen Shows Up On The Web, And It Will Set You Back $80.00

One of the more interesting features of the HTC Flyer is its use of a digital pen, but up until now there has been little talk of its availability. The Digital Pen allows you to write on basically anything you see on the Flyer, including web pages or input boxes, using HTC Scribe technology. I think that there was speculation that the Flyer would come with the digital pen, but that doesn't appear to be the case. The pen has popped up on BestBuyBusiness.com for the not-so-low price of $80, which, given the $500 price tag of the tablet itself, brings the entire package up to almost $600.

Bring It On: PopCap Is Bringing Plants Vs. Zombies To Android Within The Next Two Months

I remember when I first saw Plants vs. Zombies. I believe it was before I had an Android phone (*gasp*) and, even though it originated on the desktop, a friend of mine showed it to me on his iPhone. Once I got my OG Droid, it was one of the first games that I searched for in the Market, but of course it was irritatingly absent. So I waited... and waited... and waited.

Finally all of that waiting has [almost] paid off, because Popcap has officially announced that Plants Vs Zombies would be coming to Android within the next two months!

[New App] HBO GO Lands In The Android Market, Now You Can Watch True Blood Anywhere

If you're an HBO subscriber and just can't get enough TV, then I've got good news for you! HBO has just released its official watch-it-on-the-go Android App, HBO GO. Of course, you have to be an HBO customer in order to use this app, but that's the only prerequisite as far as I can tell.

The app allows you to watch all of your favorite HBO content directly on your mobile device, including movies and HBO original content. It should work on 3G, 4G, and WiFi, but unfortunately it is limited to US customers at this time.

That's not the only downside, either.

DROID Incredible 2 and Casio G'zOne Commando Join The DROID Charge - All Coming To Verizon On April 28th

April 28th is going to be a big day at Verizon for Android lovers, as three new phones are scheduled to hit the sales floor, adding even more choices to the already vast lineup of VZW Android powered goodness.

Samsung DROID Charge

First on the list is the Samsung DROID Charge. I realize that we've known the release date for several days, but it's definitely worth mentioning again since it's the first 4G phone to carry the DROID tag and will most likely take its place as the new flagship phone for VZW.

4.3 Inch Super AMOLED Plus display
1GHz Hummingbird processor
8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera
Mobile Hotspot with support for up to 10 devices
Android 2.2 with Samsung's TouchWiz interface

It is (unjustly) the most expensive phone on the list, with the fact that it runs on Verizon's 4G LTE network the only thing that it really has going for it.

[New Game] Death Worm For Android. Need I Say More?

It's not very often that I get the honor of telling people about a game as awesome as Death Worm. Ah, that sparked your attention, yes? Read on to find out more. But first, some obligatory screenshots:

Death Worm by Playcreek is a new game that has recently been ported from iOS to Android, where you play the part of a giant worm-ish creature set to wreak havoc on everything possible. CJ Lippstreu over at SmartKeitai has done an excellent video review, so I'll let him take it from here:

AT&T's Not So Dynamic Duo: The LG Thrive And Pheonix

AT&T has kind of introduced two new LG Android powered smartphones into its lineup, set to appear on April 17th - the LG Thrive and LG Phoenix. I say "kind of" because, well, they're the same phone. The Thrive is a prepaid variant, while the Phoenix is a contract-only device.

AutoDesk To Bring AutoCAD To Android On April 20

If you're a designer, architect, or construction contractor (or know someone who is) then there's a good chance that you've heard of AutoCAD. For those that haven't - AutoCAD is software made for 2D/3D design and drafting - and now it's coming to Android. There has been a version available for iOS under the name AutoCAD WS for some time now, and with the increasing number of requests for an Android version, AutoDesk decided that it was time to oblige.

The mobile versions of the AutoCAD software is not meant for exclusive use, though - it's more of a "lite" version.
