To celebrate the beginning of the pro cycling season (starting with the Tour Down Under in Australia) Recon, maker of HUD devices for athletes, is offering $100 off any of its HUD offerings.

Readers may remember Recon for Jet, the heads-up glasses that run Jelly Bean and compete against the still nascent Google Glass for the hearts and minds of athletes. The glasses debuted last Spring, with "Pilot Edition" units going up for pre-order last June.

Recon Instruments, creators of wearable goggle technology powered by Android called MOD Live that we got so excited about at CES 2011, have officially announced the impending release of an SDK for Android, due for launch in May 2012. Recon also announced Polar, the first app made using the SDK, that connects a Polar WearLink+ heart rate monitor to MOD Live and allows the MOD display to become a "biometric reader that delivers an athlete's heart rate in real time while they ski or snowboard."

For those not in the know, the Polar WearLink+ transmitter is essentially a Bluetooth-enabled heart monitor that can send heart rate information to a variety of compatible applications (in this case, the new Polar app).

COD1

Thanks to @maxisma, AndroidSpin found that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Force Recon is now available for download via GetJar. The good news: it looks pretty damn fun - it's reminiscent of PaperBoy, but with a lot more shooting and blood. But there's bad news, as well: before you get too excited, you should know that there's a decent chance your device may not be supported. I haven't looked at the supported devices list thoroughly (it's long, I'm lazy), but it looks like you need a trackball to play.
