Many of us waited with bated breath for Rayman Jungle Run to arrive in the Play Store late last month. Just when the wait was almost over, it was delayed. The game finally arrived a week later with all the platforming goodness you could ask for, so maybe the delay was worth it. All this precision jumping doesn't come free, though. Is the new Rayman worth a few dollars of your cash?

Gameplay

Rayman Jungle Run is split up into 40 regular stages, along with a few bonus levels. The first place of many that this game shows itself to be really well-made is with the level design.

For everyone who was a deeply saddened, disappointed, or otherwise frustrated at the delayed launch of Ubisoft's Rayman Jungle Run, time to perk up. Wipe away those tears, oh dearest Rayman fan - the title is now official in the Play Store.

This side-scrolling platformer should be a nice throwback to old-school Rayman lovers, as it offers the same colorful scenery and gameplay style, along with new worlds and powers, supposedly-intuitive touch controls, and of course, everyone's favorite limbless little man. For the die-hards out there, the game also offers unlockable wallpapers for your device.

Not so fast there, limbless flyboy. While Rayman Jungle Run was scheduled to arrive on the Play Store today, it looks like a delay has set back those plans and now the side-scroller based on the popular Ubisoft character will be launching on Thursday, September 27th. Not a huge delay, but one that's being made to "provide the best gaming experience."

Here's the full comment from the Ubisoft rep we spoke to about the delay:

Rayman Jungle Run will now be available on Google Play on Thursday September 27th @ 10am CET. We are very sorry that the Android version release on week later than expected but we wanted to provide the best gaming experience for the players with a software fully optimized for all Android devices.
