Have you ever thought to yourself, "Gee, I wish I could get a real smartphone for $150 with no contractual commitment"? Well, you can. One with a 4" display, front and rear cameras, a microSD card slot, and a 1GHz processor. For half the price of the original Motorola Pebl (that thing cost $300 back in the day).

Oh, how far we've come.

But do you want a $150 smartphone? I mean, that all depends. Do you conduct most of your "business" via the web? Push email can be a real lifesaver. Real-time Google Maps navigation will always get you to the right empty lot as quickly as possible, and Google Calendar reminders will make organizing your protection money collection schedule a breeze.

Thanks to the high cost of traditional cellular service, contract-free wireless service is becoming more and more appealing to many customers. Two fairly big names in both cellphone sales and pay-as-you-go wireless service - RadioShack and Cricket Wireless - have now teamed up to offer RadioShack No-Contract Wireless service. I kind of wish they would've come up with a catchier name. ShackMobile. ShackWireless. ShackPack. Boom Shack-a-lacka Mobile. But I digress.

The service will start off with but two phones - one smartphone and one feature phone - both manufactured by Huawei. The only one that is of any interest to us, the Huawei Mercury Ice, is a low-to-mid-range Android device, packing a 1.4GHz processor, 4" display, 8MP rear shooter, and Android 2.3.

Rumors have been floating around today that the HTC One X on AT&T is going to drop to $99 on July 29th. We're inclined to believe these rumors, as RadioShack just announced that, you guessed it, the One X will lose $100 off its price tag beginning on Sunday, July 29th, making it $99. This all but confirms that AT&T will drop the price in its stores and online, as well.

To save even more money, you can also take advantage of The Shack's trade-in program, which nets you anywhere between $30 and $300 for your old phone to go towards the purchase of a new phone.

If you've been waiting for a sale to grab a new Android-powered phone, RadioShack is looking to give you the chance to get just about any phone you could want for $50 off. Customers buying a device for upgrade or new two-year agreement can save $50 when they spend $99.99 or more. The deal will run from now until Saturday, July 28th in stores, and until "the end of August" in RadioShack's online store.

What's great about this promotion is that it includes any phone $99.99 or over, including the HTC One X, Samsung Galaxy SIII, HTC EVO 4G LTE, and others, so customers can get a hold of the latest flagships, or a device they've been keeping an eye on for a while.

With Samsung's Galaxy SIII (finally) hitting Sprint a few days ago, those looking to snatch a unit already have a few deals to take advantage of. The best of them (so far) is from RadioShack Wireless. RadioShack is currently offering the Galaxy SIII (in its Pebble Blue, 16GB form) for just $149.99 for those opening a new account or upgrading their current device.

Both Amazon and Wirefly are offering the same device for the slightly higher (yet still discounted) price of $179.99 for new accounts and upgrades. It's worth noting that Wirefly is currently throwing in a free 16GB microSD card with your purchase.

Even in the event you do win one of the great phones we've got up for grabs today, you might want to check out RadioShack this holiday season regardless - they've got a whole bunch of phones you can get free today on new 2-year agreements on AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon as part of their holiday free phone sale. The Samsung Stratosphere, HTC Inspire 4G, and more.

A few days ago, we received a mystery package from the good folks at RadioShack. Inside the package were three phones - the Samsung Stratosphere on Verizon, HTC EVO Design 4G on Sprint, and Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T. Since these phones are ours to do with what we please, we've decided to do what we always do when we end up with extra goodies: give them away.

Since we have three phones to hand out, we're going to make each contest quick and dirty. Each one will last for one day, and one day only.

Before we get into the giveaway details, we want to give a shoutout to the guys at RadioShack.

RadioShack seems awfully pleased with its new partnership with Verizon, and to express its sentiment it is giving a $100 instant rebate for every Verizon smartphone activated with a 2-year contract. Those averse to arduous rebate policies (i.e. mailing in the form) will be pleased to know that the entire process of activation and rebate approval will be taken care of by an "awesome" RadioShack associate on the spot. The selected handsets include the HTC Thunderbolt, the Samsung Droid Charge, the Motorola Droid X2  and Droid Bionic.

Existing Verizon customers will also receive a $100 gift card in addition to the $100 instant rebate when they upgrade their handset.

Update: If you've been holding your breath waiting for this beauty, you can breathe a sigh of relief, as it's now available at RadioShack. Woot.

Could the EVO 3D on Sprint get even better? Well, sure - it could use a bit of Ice Cream Sandwich, but we'll remain realistic for the time being and take RadioShack's exclusive white version instead. The new sleeker, more gorgeous than ever EVO 3D variant will be coming September 9th, as outed by a screenshot posted by RadioShack's own Twitter account. Lookin' good, isn't it?
