Welcome to the Android Police Newsletter Q&A, a new series where we open up about the hottest new gadgets on the market — in this case, the Surface Duo. Our Facebook request for a relationship status with Android might still be unrequited, but Google has made its love for crowd-sourced answers in Maps and Search official. Questions & answers had been in beta for a short time (and even before that, we knew it was coming). But in a blog post on the subject today, Google formally revealed the new feature, stating that it should be rolling out to Maps and Search users soon. 

A new update to Google Maps is rolling out to the beta channel members right now, and like so many previous releases, there are a few new features to check out. First, the Q&A feature from the last teardown of Maps is live. Drivers will soon be able to see a monthly report of their behavior right inside the app. If you're running an Android O developer preview, the first thing you can look forward to is the addition of Picture-in-Picture support. Also for Android O are a pair of new notification channels to get better control over navigation-specific information.

Sundar Pichai, lately the CEO of Google and a huge figure in the world of Android, is apparently considering the advice of his dear mother when it comes time to name the next release of Android. That's according to a question and answer session Pichai gave at Delhi University, where topics such as football (soccer) and cricket were also broached. But he won't be considering his mother's input alone.
