Stylish Platform-Puzzle Game Contrast Arrives On The SHIELD Android TV For $15

These days it's rare to see a game praised for graphics alone - with incredibly powerful hardware available on consoles, PCs, and yes, mobile hardware, it's more about what you can do with what you have. A prime example is Contrast, a combination platformer and puzzle game that first debuted on PC and console download services just under two years ago. It's a perfect intersection of unique art design and compelling game mechanics. Today it's available on Android for $14.99, but only if you have NVIDIA's SHIELD Android TV box.

Contrast takes place in a sort of steampunk-burlesque universe, following a very personal story about a mother and daughter.

Phosphor Game Studio has released an immersive mobile game that hooks in to what's happening on TV.

The game, Hereos Reborn: Enigma, stars Dahlia, a young woman whose special powers are needed to solve various puzzles in first-person. Think Portal. You will use telekinesis and time shifting to make it through over 30 levels, all designed using Unreal Engine 4.

Help Little Red Riding Hood Escape Toothy Death In Hexagonal Puzzler A Day In The Woods

In A Day in the Woods, you help to protect Little Red Riding Hood, who apparently lacks the sense to avoid woods infested with wolves and bears while she wanders haphazardly from cottage to cottage. Well, Red doesn't actually move at all - she stays stationary on her hexagonal puzzle tile, and you move her and the adjacent tiles to get her to the house on each level. You're given a limited amount of moves per stage to hit par, and you'll also have to grab the flowers that grow before clearing the stage.

It's more complicated than it looks. Certain tiles like rocks and trees can't be moved, and you'll have to keep Red at least two tiles away from a bear or wolf to avoid mauling - there are no handy lumberjacks to take them out.

Prismatica Is An Original Color-Focused Puzzle Game That Will Spin You Right Round

There are a lot of puzzle games on Android. It makes sense: a touch-based interface is perfect for games that have a lot of active elements on screen at once and don't need quick responses. Each Prismatica stage is made up of a series of hexagonal wheels that are interconnected. Every wheel uses a colored spoke which "assigns" the color to its surrounding tiles, which overlap onto another wheel at at least one point, combining their colors.
