AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, And Other Carriers Announce Galaxy S7 And S7 Edge Availability

It's that time of the announcement cycle: as everyone fawns over Samsung's newest toys, carriers are tripping over themselves to tell you when you can buy them. Acer's Weird Looking Gaming Tablet Predator 8 Is Up For Pre-Order For $300

We usually equate the words "gaming tablet" with NVIDIA's SHIELD Tablet, but Acer wants to change the rules of that game a little. It previewed its new Predator 8 tablet in April, then announced it back at IFA, and now it's ready to start taking pre-orders in the US. The price is acceptable, if not a steal, for the specs. $300 should net you one and you can already reserve yours online with Acer, Newegg, and TigerDirect among other retailers.

The Predator 8 packs an Intel Atom X7-Z8700 Cherry Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage with a MicroSD slot that can take up to 128GB cards.

HTC Pushes US One A9 Pre-Order Shipments Back By Up To Several Weeks, Delays Verizon Compatibility Indefinitely

While the A9 is indeed a pretty good phone, there's no doubt HTC's bungled the launch of the device a bit. First, the whole promotional pricing thing (and the 2GB/16GB variant abroad being so damn expensive), and now? A pre-order shipment delay for those who did choose to buy one. We're hearing from US readers that HTC has sent out the following email, pushing back shipment of the initially available colors until next Tuesday, November 10th, at the earliest. Some customers, though, will be waiting much longer than that - especially if you ordered a Sprint variant.

In addition, HTC has now delayed Verizon network compatibility for the One A9 indefinitely.

After A False Start, Blackberry Is Now Taking Pre-Orders For The Android-Powered Priv For $699

Earlier this week Blackberry's official online store posted a pre-order page for the Priv, a high-end QWERTY slider phone that also happens to be the company's first full Android device. Apparently that was a bit premature - it disappeared after a short time, but not so short that prospective customers didn't balk at the $749 USD starting price. Today the pre-order page is back with a slightly cheaper price: $699. Was the original page an error or did Blackberry see the quick reaction and adjust it down? We couldn't say. The page says the phone will start shipping on November 6th.

The Google Store is already taking pre-orders for the Nexus 6P, and I'm sure a ton of you have already placed one. But there's an alternative you might want to check out, at least if you live in the US: Huawei's own online storefront. The manufacturer is also selling the phone directly to consumers, with a shipping date of late October. The prices are the same as the Google Store, but there are a few pros and cons for selecting Huawei as your phone vendor instead. Let's break them down:

Pros

  • Google and Huawei may be drawing from different stock, so lower order numbers on Huawei's site might mean you get your phone sooner.
