BlackBerry's Snapdragon 820-equipped DTEK60 is up for pre-order at B&H for $499.99

It's no secret that BlackBerry isn't doing so well these days - the PRIV hasn't sold very well due to its high price point, and the DTEK50 is simply a more expensive, rebadged Alcatel Idol 4 with some BlackBerry software. Though the DTEK60 is also based on an (unreleased) Alcatel/TCL device, it seems like a pretty compelling offering.

AT&T LG V20 pre-orders start tomorrow (10/7), hits store on 10/28

The LG V20 is perhaps the best phone released by LG in recent history. Instead of the modular functionality of the LG G5, the V20 was designed as an all-in-one solution for power users. It even has features rare on flagship devices, like a removable battery and a fantastic headphone amp. The V20 is also the only non-Google phone to currently ship with Android 7.0 Nougat.

AT&T has announced pre-orders for the V20 will begin tomorrow, although unfortunately neglected to provide a shipping date.

[Update: Live] Best Buy will give you a $100 gift card and a Chromecast when you pre-order and activate a Pixel on Verizon

The Pixels were announced today, and there's no other way to put it - they're pretty expensive. The line starts at $649.99 for the smaller, 32GB Pixel and maxes out at $869.99 for the 128GB XL. That's iPhone-esque pricing (the devices literally cost exactly the same as comparable iPhone 7s do). However, if you're a Verizon customer, you have an option to ease the pain; Best Buy is offering customers who pre-order and activate the Pixel and Pixel XL a $100 gift card and a free Chromecast.

Sony's Xperia XZ is now officially available in the US for a whopping $700

Sony Mobile, despite its lackluster presence here for the past few years, is gradually re-entering the US market. The Japanese company's latest flagship, the Xperia XZ, went up for pre-order a little over a week ago, and it's now available for purchase. Unfortunately, at $700, I don't see the XZ helping Sony's dwindling smartphone business much.

Unlocked Moto Z now available for pre-order through Motorola, Z Play available through Amazon and Best Buy

After several months of exclusivity with Verizon, the Moto Z is now available for pre-order as a GSM unlocked variant for a whopping $699.99. In addition, the unlocked model of the newer (headphone jack-equipped) Moto Z Play can be pre-ordered, but for a more reasonable $449.99. Unfortunately, the Moto Z Droid Force is remaining a Verizon exclusive.

The Android version of Lenovo's funky Yoga Book convertible is up for pre-order for $500

Lenovo turned a lot of heads when it announced its latest Yoga design, the Yoga Book. It's essentially a convertible laptop with a fold-back screen, complete with the Yoga line's well-regarded watch band hinge. But the Yoga Book has an ace up its sleeve: instead of a conventional keyboard, it uses a gigantic touch-sensitive panel that includes a dedicated keyboard mode, with virtual backlit "keys" that can be activated at a touch. Windows and Android versions are being made, and the latter is now up for pre-order.

The unlocked Xperia X Compact is available for pre-order on Amazon for $500, plus a $50 credit

Customers who want a solid phone with good specs and a screen size under five inches have been having a hard time of it for the last few years. Sony seems like the only manufacturer that will give them the time of day, and their phones aren't always easy to find in any given market. Those in the US who've been salivating over the Xperia X Compact, the company's latest bantamweight heavy-hitter, can now put down some money to get an American unlocked model.

Samsung to fix "ordered too early" issue for T-Mobile Note7 pre-order gifts

Starting with the Galaxy S7 series, Samsung began offering gifts to customers who pre-ordered their phones. If you pre-ordered a Galaxy S7 or S7 edge, you got a free Gear VR. The South Korean tech giant offered a similar promotion, arguably even better, for the Galaxy Note7—you could choose to receive either a Gear Fit 2 or a 256GB microSD card. But a number of T-Mobile users are having issues claiming their gifts.

Galaxy Note7 up for pre-order at AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint, complete with free extras

Not even an entire day has gone by since the official reveal of the Galaxy Note 7 (no, Samsung, I'm not going to take that space out, no matter how hard your brand managers glare at me) and everyone who's anyone is already trying to sell pre-orders. It's par for the course for American carriers, naturally, but something about this year's upgrade seems to have brought out the big guns. Maybe all of the cell service companies are trying to switch everyone over to a Note 7 before iPhone season rolls around? In any case, here we go:
