Verizon Wireless Announces The Samsung Galaxy S III, Pre-Orders Begin On June 6th

Last night, Samsung announced that the Galaxy S III would be available on five different U.S. carriers: Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, and U.S. Cellular. Each carrier's individual PRs have already begun rolling in, so we're starting to get an idea of when we can expect this device to hit the states; for Big Red, pre-orders will begin on June 6th promptly at 7 AM EST.

Aesthetically, the device doesn't deviate from its international counterpart, and according to these press shots, looks exactly like our leak from last night.

EVO 4G LTE Units Are Arriving In Consumers' Hands Already

While it may have taken a long time and a lengthy delay to get here, Sprint's variant of the HTC One X, the EVO 4G LTE, is finally landing in consumers' hands. XDA users in this thread are sharing photos to prove that they've received their EVO LTE units. So far, reports have come in confirming units in Ohio, Virginia, and New York. Folks on the West coast may find themselves waiting a little longer.

Standing opposite HTC's One X, the Galaxy S III is one of this year's most hotly anticipated devices. If you're overly eager to get in on the pre-order action, Amazon has pre-orders available from several retailers. It's worth noting that the "Featured Merchants" among them include names like TechnoTradingHouse.com or BLUTEKUSA. Relatively unknowns, but they've all popped up in very close succession.

Sprint Officially Confirms That The EVO 4G LTE Launch Is Delayed Due To US Customs, Provides Pre-Order Cancellation Options

We reported last night that, due to an ITC order on an Apple patent infringement claim, at least some of HTC's One X and EVO 4G LTE smartphones had been halted at shipping ports by US Customs.

The implications of this for the EVO 4G LTE just got worse, as Sprint has been forced to concede that the planned May 18th launch will have to be delayed until the customs investigation is completed.
