PUBG: New State enters closed alpha testing as a fresh entry in the series, here's a full hour of gameplay

The latest battle royale from Krafton, and it takes place in the future

Last night the closed alpha for PUBG: New State kicked off, and thanks to Krafton, I've gained access so that I can show precisely what this alpha brings to the table. I've recorded a full hour of 1080p 60FPS gameplay, spanning three drops into the new Troi map, and I also went out of my way to show all of the game's menus and settings at the start of the video. So if you're curious to see precisely what PUBG: New State's closed alpha has to offer, my lengthy gameplay video should answer all of your questions.

Surprisingly PUBG Corporation has managed to stick to a monthly release schedule for the last two months, and so it's time once again to see what the latest patch brings to Playerunknown's Battlegrounds Mobile. The update to 1.3 offers a new festival mode in celebration of the game's anniversary, a new chapter where you can choose to play undercover, a Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle, and plenty of map and performance improvements. Oh, and the next Royal Pass will begin later this month, so there isn't long to wait.

Typically new PUBG expansions drop near the beginning of the month, and so patch 0.19.0 is officially available starting today. What's unique about this release is that it marks the first time the game has been updated without taking the servers offline in order to ensure a better gaming experience for players, which is nice to see. Beyond the new method to push updates, players can expect to find an all-new Nordic-style map Livik, a map-exclusive vehicle, and two new map-exclusive firearms. It's also clear that PUBG Corporation is continuing the prep work for the launch of season 14 on July 14th.

PUBG temporarily banned in Pakistan because won't someone think of the children

A formal hearing is scheduled for July 9th

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (or PTA) has temporarily banned the game PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. The PTA claims to have received reports which claim that the game is addictive, wastes time, and poses a negative impact on the physical and psychological health of children. Let's hope no one explains Fortnite to them.

PUBG Mobile 0.18.0 adds sandstorms to Miramar, improves graphics, and preps for Season 13

PUBG Corporation may have skipped 0.17.5, but 0.18.0 is finally here

It looks like PUBG Corporation skipped patch 0.17.5, but 0.18.0 is here as of this morning, and it brings with it more than a few changes and additions. The primary focus this month is the release of Mad Miramar, an update to the Classic Miramar map that adds refreshed graphics and a bunch of new zones, not to mention, sandstorms. The P90 makes its first appearance in the Arena Mode, and new cheat detection has been implemented. We also know EvoGround is slated to receive a new mode sometime soon, and new Classic Mode Content should be coming soon as well, along with the launch of Royale Pass Season 13 on May 13th.

We last talked about PUBG Mobile when the 0.16.5 patch landed in January, and so it would appear that the month of February was completely skipped now that patch 0.17.0 is here at the beginning of March. As expected, this is an unorganized update, even worse than previous months, since the majority of content advertised in this patch won't actually go live today. Season 12 does not start until March 9th, and the Amusement Park Mode in Classic Erangel won't arrive until March 12th. There's also some type of Artic Mode coming too, but a date hasn't even been provided for that. Still, today's patch brings with it a few changes that are actually live as of this morning, which I'll detail in the body below.

Now that January has been officially underway for a week, it's time once again to check out the latest monthly update for PUBG Mobile. Patch 0.16.5 brings with it some notable additions, including the start of Royale Pass Season 11 (starting tomorrow 1/10), but you can also expect to find a new Domination game mode, a new Arena map, as well as a new vehicle. It's also worth noting that those that update between January 9th and the 15th will receive 20 Silver, 2,000 BP, and 1 Blue Glider Trail.

December signals that it's time again for another monthly PUBG Mobile update. Now that the 0.16.0 patch for PUBG Mobile is here, you may be wondering exactly what this update brings. Well, first off, there is a new EvoGround mode called RageGear, and it brings with it a new EvoGround Loadout feature. Players can also expect to find some new Classic modes, such as Snow Paradise. Of course, there are many more additions that come with today's update, so if you'd like to view the full changelog, hit that read more button.

A little under a month ago, I covered the 0.15.0 update for PUBG Mobile, and once again, it's time to pore over the latest changes in the PUBG Mobile update coming to Android today. This point release signals the start of Royal Pass Season 10. There's also a new Team Deathmatch map called Ruins, and new weapons and vehicles are also included. You can also expect a new character to launch soon, though no date has been provided, so your guess is as good as mine as to when we can expect this character to go live.

Last month I covered the release of the 0.14.5 update for PUBG Mobile, and it appears it's time once again to pore through the latest patch. The 0.15.0 update brings with it a new Payload mode (though it's not live yet), an update to the Survive Till Dawn - Halloween mode, as well as enhancements like a new mid-air leap, new vehicles, new weapons, exploding fuel drums, and performance enhancements. While I can't say this update is as monumental as Fortnite's latest Chapter release, it's understandable that you can't always expect huge changes to PUBG Mobile every month.

Nepal has just instituted a complete ban on the popular battle royale game PUBG. If this sounds familiar, some cities in India were found to be arresting people just for playing the game just last month. Authorities say that the game's violence is harmful to children, it's too addictive, and children are being distracted from their schooling.

The mobile version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds received a massive update in the middle of June with the 0.6.0 release. Most notably it introduced a new season pass system and a playable first-person view. But that's old news. Looking forward, the 0.7.0 update should be coming out sometime soon, and if you would like to check it out before it's officially pushed to the stable build, you can. There is now a beta version of PUBG Mobile listed on the Play Store.

Early this morning Bloomberg broke the news that the South Korean copyright suit brought against the Fortnite creator Epic Games by PUBG Corp. has been dropped. Apparently PUBG Corp. sent a letter of withdrawal to Epic Games Inc.’s attorneys on Monday, and as a result, the case has been closed.

The developers for the mobile version of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds aren't wasting any time by adding many new features before the inevitable release of Fortnite on Android. Lucky for us that means we get to play around with a few new changes thanks to the recent 0.6.0 update. The two most notable additions are the new Royale Pass system that earns players various rewards, and a first-person perspective mode that finally gives fans an easy way to enjoy FPS gameplay.

Unless you've lived under a rock, you're probably aware of the existence of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Epic's Fortnite. The former has been immensely popular on Android and the latter coming soon to offer some competition. According to a recent report by The Korea Times, PUBG has filed suit against Epic Games in Korea alleging that the latter violates its copyrights with the game Fortnite.

The battle royale genre has been getting a lot of attention with the recent mobile releases of Playerunknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite. And with that popularity has come a slew of copycats and clones trying to beat their inspiration to the punch. So, of course, it was only a matter of time before lawsuits started flying, and apparently, Bluehole Studio has had enough as they have filed a suit against NetEase for copyright and trademark violations.

Last Friday I did a hands-on with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile thanks to its availability as a soft-launch title in Canada. Today it would appear that the PUBG Mobile has launched worldwide minus a few European regions, though it's exactly the same version (0.3.2) as the Canadian release from last week. So short of the new areas that can access the download, nothing much has changed.

Yesterday Tencent Games opened up the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Mobile beta as a soft-launch listing on the Play Store that is freely available to players in Canada. Today I have sideloaded the APK and necessary OBB files in order to test it out and see how its development is shaping up. So far the performance has been excellent, though the touchscreen controls aren't great.

Rumblings of a PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds release on Android for Western markets started late last year, when two different versions of the game were announced for China: one made by TIMI Studio Group, the other by Lightspeed & Quantum Studio. The latter version has made its way across the globe during the last three months, as PUBG Mobile is now live on the Play Store. But, this is a soft launch, so it's Canada-only (for now).

I have been biding my time with the recent rumors of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds coming to Android to ensure that it will indeed exist as an official release. After spending some time digging through a few Chinese sites, it does look as though the rumors are legit. As of yesterday Tencent and TIMI Studio Group released an official webpage complete with a trailer for their upcoming game. If that wasn't enough good news, there is a second web page from Tencent that popped up for a different PUBG mobile game developed by Lightspeed & Quantum Studio. While it is still unknown if these games will ever come to the West, it is pretty interesting to see that there will be two official PUBG adaptations coming to Android in the near future.
