While Google's other announcement, an Analytics mobile app, made our site's founder combustible with joy, this announcement is sure to bring cheer to those with products already in the Play store. FishLabs, Developer Of Galaxy On Fire, Releases Sports Car Challenge, Promising Detailed Graphics And Prestigious Marques

It's been just over a year since FishLabs released its Tegra HD-exclusive title Galaxy on Fire 2, which provided both impressive graphics and a surprising amount of depth. Now we have a slightly less futuristic-weaponry, slightly more glossy-metal title to check out, with FishLabs' newest creation, Sports Car Challenge. As you'd expect from the title, this game features a decent selection of the shiniest and fastest four-wheeled polygons around.

[Update: Spain, Too!] Google Announces Books On The German Play Store, Continuing Into Non English-Speaking Markets

Update: Google just announced that Books is now available in Spain, as well. Yay for reading!

Not a bad week for German Android fans. First on the map in Europe with the recently-reviewed LG Optimus 4X HD, and now the release of books for sale in the Google Play store. The soccer team's not doing too badly, either.

Posted today on its Google+ account, Google Play announced the availability of book purchases effective immediately in Germany, including plenty of German-language bestsellers. Unfortunately their German-speaking neighbors of Austria and Switzerland have been left out in the cold with no way to get their deutschsprachige literary groove on, but this is the service's first step another step beyond the realm of English and is unsurprisingly gradual.

AT&T Announces Exclusive Availability Of Sony's LTE-Packing Xperia Ion On June 24th For $99.99 On Two Year Contract

Back at CES in January we got a first glance at Sony's latest flagship phone, the Xperia Ion. In our time with it, the device made an impression with its 720P display and 12 megapixel camera. As expected, this device is finally showing up on AT&T with an announcement today of the device's availability later this month.

As you can see, this is a phone with some serious media credentials. The 4.6" 'Reality display'  allows you to view HD content on the go, including content from the Sony Entertainment Network (SEN). The Xperia Ion is also PlayStation certified, so the SEN's selection of games will be available to you in addition to music and video.

Spotify's New ICS App Now Out Of Beta And Available In The Play Store

The "freemium" music streaming service Spotify has had great success on the desktop and on iOS, but its Android offering has always been rather lacking, with an extremely dated-looking application that did no justice to the greatness of the service itself. Back in April, Spotify made its first motions towards bringing the app up to speed with a public beta of a rather pretty Holo-themed application for Android 4.0, and now that beta has borne fruit.

In a blog post today, Spotify announced the immediate release of the finished version of this Android 4.0 client to the Google Play Store.

VirusTotal App Now Available For Android, Checks The Legitimacy Of Your Installed Apps Against 40+ Different AntiVirus Sources

We at Android Police take our mobile security pretty seriously. It's in the job description. Entering the realm of mobile security today is yet another contender on the good side of the battle: VirusTotal has released its client for Android. Prior to this, VirusTotal was a simple website where you can upload suspicious files to be scanned by a multitude of antivirus engines. Having provided this desktop OS-oriented service for several years now, VirusTotal has brought its experience and expertise to mobile.

However, its mobile offering is slightly different than its desktop counterpart. As mobile devices are often data-limited, VirusTotal for Android instead checks an identifying hash of each application installed on your mobile device against the website's database.

LG Announces Release Of Optimus 4X HD In Europe, Available Now In Germany

As promised by LG back in May, its top of the line quad-core Optimus 4X HD is now seeing release in Europe. First seen at MWC in February, this is set to take on the Samsung Galaxy S III and HTC One X for the favor of powerhouse-craving phone shoppers throughout the continent. The device is now available for purchase from Amazon DE in either black or white, both close to the €500 mark.

In case the specs have slipped your mind, here's a quick refresher:

Watch Where You Look! Senseye Shows Off Its Futuristic Eye Control System At Computex 2012

Over at Computex Taipei, the usual array of bizarre and/or nifty gadgets you'd expect at a technology trade show are out in numbers. Coming to the attention of The Verge's Sean Hollister was a demo by Scandinavian company Senseye, with its intriguing eye tracking-based control and navigation system. As you might expect, a camera simply follows the motion of your eyes and moves the cursor to their focal point. To the obvious amusement of Halfbrick Studios, the Senseye was demonstrated on a large screen playing Fruit Ninja.

The Senseye system added a new peril for the player as simply looking at the dangerous bombs masquerading as sliceable fruit resulted in them exploding, but this was alleviated using good ol' peripheral vision.
