Everyone's favorite novelty camera app that hasn't been bought for a billion dollars, Paper Camera, saw an update to version 3 today. Among the new features, the app has added support for the front-facing camera, the ability to share to a variety of sites, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. The app also allows users to buy extra controls via an in-app purchase that add even more customization controls to the already impressive filters.

The previous version of Paper Camera added support for video recording, so this rounds out a rather ample set of features. While it may not be enough to take Instagram down, this will certainly be worth it for users of the app.

Paper Camera, one of the most successful camera apps on the Android Market, got an update to version 2.0 today. You may remember our preview of version 2.0 earlier this month, 2.0 being the update which promised to add video capability to the already awesome app. Well, JFDP Labs LTD has made good on that promise, and thrown in a few other tweaks as well.

At the moment, only the Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy SII, Galaxy Note, Droid 3, and Transformer Prime have official video support, but JFDP advises that other devices "might have some degree of support."

Besides added video capabilities, Paper Camera has also received support for Android Beam, allowing users to transfer images seamlessly between devices powered by Ice Cream Sandwich.

Paper Camera, a crowd favorite for novelty photo shoots, is preparing for an update that will bring video recording and Android Beam support, along with a few other tweaks. We got the chance to go behind the scenes and give you, our lovely, smart, beautiful readers a preview of the new features.

The folks at JFDP Labs are still testing out video recording, but so far they've got support for the Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note, and Droid 3. We tested it out on an Epic 4G Touch and everything worked smoothly, which isn't surprising as this device is in the Galaxy S2 family.

A few weeks ago, we covered an incredible new camera app called Paper Camera. It's unique in nature because it offers amazing real-time effects (as opposed to post-processed effects, like most other third-party camera apps), like cartoon, sketch, comic book, old printer, neon, bleaching, half-time, noir, newspaper, and more.

The app is normally a couple of bucks in the Android Market, but for this week, GetJar is offering the full version absolutely free of charge. I stand corrected - Paper Camera, along with all other GetJar Gold apps, will remain free indefinitely!

This is definitely one of the most unique camera apps that I've ever seen, and now there is no reason not to have it installed.

When it comes to camera apps, it has been a while since I've really been wowed by anything I've seen. Most offer the same features - saturation, color effects, maybe some sort of Polaroid replica... you get the idea. I guess the dev team at JFDP Labs felt the same way, because they have put together the most impressive camera app that I've ever seen, simply called Paper Camera.

I had to throw this in, because I really like that tiny... paper camera.

Paper Camera offers some very cool effects like cartoon, sketch, comic book, old printer, neon, bleaching, half tone, noir, old newspaper, and more.
