[Exclusive] Leaked Images Of The New Nexus Phone Retail Boxes Confirm 'Nexus 5X' And 'Nexus 6P' Model Names

It's a little less than a week until Google reveals its new Nexus devices in San Francisco, but as seems to happen every year, we know pretty much every detail beforehand. Oddly, one of the last things we knew about the new LG and Huawei Nexus phones were their actual names. A rumor last week suggested that LG's 5.2-inch follow-up to the 2013 Nexus 5 would be called the Nexus 5X, and that Huawei's 5.7-inch flagship would go by Nexus 6P. Android Police can now confirm the rumors with these exclusive images of the retail packaging for both phones. The Nexus 5X is above and the Nexus 6P is below.

Motorola DROID Turbo Retail Packaging Leaked On Twitter Ahead Of Tuesday Announcement

Update: According to this tweet from Moto Firmware, the DROID Turbo will launch on October 30th (two days after the announcement) and some retailers already have the phone in stock. The source is anonymous, so consider it rumor for now.


Do you appreciate the Nexus 6's bombastic hardware specs, but wish they came in a more compact form factor? Do you like the size of the Moto X 2014, and appreciate Motorola's software enhancements on top of Android? Possible Nexus 5 Retail Packaging Leaked, New White Variant Revealed

This is the point in Google's product cycle where the leaks start falling like rain. Earlier today a Korean site named UnderKG (in case you couldn't tell through the obnoxious watermarks and bloom) posted photos of what appears to be the retail packaging of the LG Nexus 5. The boxes depart a little from the design of the previous Nexus devices, but still follow the basic pattern.

What's more interesting is that the device itself seems to be a white variant that we haven't seen before. All the various leaks from Google, LG and others point to a color scheme of black or dark grey soft-touch plastic, very much like the Nexus 7 2013.
