Traditionally LG is one of the stragglers when it comes to updating its flagship devices to the newest Android OS versions. This time around, though, things appear to be different. Hot on the heels of Motorola's Lollipop soak test for the 2014 Moto X (which should lead to an official update in short order), LG has announced that it will begin rolling out Android's newest flavor to its G3 phone this week. The update will begin in Poland with other "key markets" to follow soon.

SEOUL, Nov. 9, 2014 ― LG Electronics (LG) this week will begin rolling out the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade for G3 smartphones starting in Poland this week, to be followed by other key markets in the near future.

The Original Moto G (XT1032) Gets Its Android 4.4.4 Over-The-Air Update

The original Moto G is getting Android 4.4.4! Well, at least one of them is. The Moto G actually had at least eight different variants designed for various global markets in 3G and LTE flavors. If you happen to have the XT1032 model, which is the most common international 3G-only version, you might be getting an over-the-air update to Android 4.4.4 right now. Why are you still reading this? Open your Settings menu already.

A few users over on XDA noted the update, and one was kind enough to post the ZIP file. If your phone is still running the stock Motorola recovery partition, you can download and flash it right away, though any root-level modifications of the software might fudge things up.

OnePlus One's Touchscreen Issues Are Fixed With Latest Firmware (For Real This Time) Currently In Testing, Expected In Next OTA

Since launch, some OnePlus One owners have encountered issues with the phone's touchscreen. The complaints center around the display being unresponsive, causing it to miss certain touches and provide a generally frustrating typing experience. Sometimes it resulted in taps while dragging or swiping.

Now a firmware upgrade is in testing that takes care of this problem entirely. It's expected to go out to users soon in an upcoming over-the-air update.

The last OnePlus One OTA update fixed some of the issues, but as we now know, it didn't tackle all of them. Artem has gotten his hands on a privately shared kernel with the new firmware, and he has nothing but good things to say about it thus far.

Sprint Targets Galaxy S4 Mini With OTA Update Delivering International Wi-Fi Calling

Sprint has posted the change log for an over-the-air update with the Galaxy S4 Mini's name on it. The release will provide the smaller version of 2013's flagship Samsung handset with international Wi-Fi calling and a couple other niceties. It will bump devices up to version L600VPUBNJ1.

Sprint HTC One M8 Receives OTA Software Update Bringing Eye Experience Enhancements And Android 4.4.4

Sprint's HTC One M8 has received an over-the-air update that gives that 4 "Ultrapixel" camera a boost. No, it doesn't magically cram in more pixels into those photos, but it does greatly expand just what you can do with the shooter on both the front and the back of the device. This comes courtesy of the new HTC Eye Experience.

These software enhancements, which HTC showed off at a selfie-themed event where it unveiled the Desire EYE, introduce a number of innovations that actually catch our interest. There's face tracking for video chats, split capturing (which records through both cameras at once), auto/voice seflies, and several other features.

Sprint HTC One M8 And E8 Get Matching OTA Update Bringing International Wi-Fi Calling, GPS Enhancements, And More

The HTC One E8 is a plastic remake of the all metal M8 that sports identical specs with the exception of the camera (13MP vs the latter's 4 "UltraPixel"). With this being the case, it's only fitting that the pair get an OTA update at the same time. Sprint is now pushing one out to the two devices that introduces basically the same features across both.

The most interesting item on the change log is perhaps the addition of international Wi-Fi calling. This functionality sounds like it would benefit Sprint customers who frequently dial out to folks who live or work overseas, but these calls are only free between people who live in the US, Puerto Rico, or the Virgin Islands.

T-Mobile's Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 Gets Android 4.4.4 In Latest OTA Update

T-Mobile is pushing out an over-the-air update that will bump its Galaxy Tab 4 up to Android 4.4.4. This means that people who own this 8.0-inch LTE-enabled tablet will get to run the latest version of their mobile operating system for at least a week before 5.0 starts running out to various devices. Since this is a bugfix release, that's the biggest reason most users will have to look forward to this OTA. Too bad it will be a short-lived one.

The new software version goes by the name of T337TUVU1BNI8. That long string of digits and letters is what you're going to want to check for after the dust settles to make sure you're all set and everything's legit.

T-Mobile HTC One M8 Receives OTA Update With Android 4.4.4 And Eye Experience

T-Mobile is currently pushing out an over-the-air update to its version of HTC's flagship phone that bumps the software up to Android 4.4.4. Interestingly enough, getting the latest version of KitKat isn't the highlight of this release. This OTA also comes with the suite of features bundled together as the HTC Eye Experience, which the manufacturer detailed in a selfie-themed event where it unveiled the Desire EYE.

The Eye Experience, which we've previously detailed more in-depth, introduces numerous features that range from useful to just plain gimmicky. Useful: Face Tracking, the ability to keep up with up to four faces during a video chat at once and show them to a recipient in a split screen.

Android Wear 4.4W.2 Build KNX01Q Starts Rolling Out For The LG G Watch, Brings Offline Music And GPS Support (Though You Can't Use The Latter)

Back in September, we heard Google's official plans to update Android Wear and add more functionality to the platform and its watches. The first update promised to bring GPS and offline music playback capabilities, so that Wear watches could be used without a phone to track activities and listen to tunes via Bluetooth. The second update is supposed to add native support for watch faces. And it looks like LG's G Watch is the first Android Wear device to start benefiting from these additions.
