We heard the rumor yesterday and now it looks like our dreams have come to pass! Sprint's Galaxy S III will be receiving an OTA Jelly Bean upgrade starting today. Of course, this also bring a new TouchWiz update as well, but fortunately, things like Google Now and widget organization magic will remain intact. Here's the changelog:

Jelly Bean offers users a smoother, faster and more fluid experience with expanded feature functionality, including:

  • Google Now™ gets you just the right information at just the right time, like how much traffic to expect before you leave for work or when the next train will arrive as you’re standing on the platform.

It truly is update season as Google gets all its Nexus devices up to date prior to the presumed announcement of 4.2 at the event later this month. Today an update to 4.1.2 has started to reach the Takju variant of the Galaxy Nexus, and you don't have to wait if you don't want to.

Before you get too excited, your device is only compatible with this update if it meets the following criteria:

  • Your device is the Takju version of the Galaxy Nexus.

A small update is making is way to the ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700), bringing a slew of minor bug fixes along with it. We actually got our hands on a changelog this time (a rarity for ASUS):

Camera (All SKUs)

  • Fix the issue that switching to front camera in Facebook app would cause Facebook app to crash.

Wi-Fi (All SKUs)

  • Fix the issue that some 802.1x Wi-Fi APs cannot be connected after upgrading to Jelly Bean.

Since the JB update started rolling out to the GSIII in Europe last night, Samsung decided this would be the perfect time to let U.S. owners know that the update will be available "in the coming months." Can you guess the reason why it's going to take so much longer? Allow me to enlighten you:

The specific timing and update method will be announced by each carrier partner, AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Verizon Wireless and U.S.

The dedicated Android community has a way of tracking down OTA update files almost before the rollout begins. This is again the case for the newest Android 4.1.2 update for some variants of the unlocked Nexus S. Waiting for updates is for chumps, so get your Nexus S in hand, and proceed with caution.

If you've been waiting for Android 4.1.2 to hit your GSM Galaxy Nexus (yakju), wait no more. Google has already begun the OTA process, but in case you haven't gotten yours yet, we've got the direct link for manual installation. Yay for you! Here's how to make it happen.

First and foremost, you'll need to meet a couple of prerequisites:

  • You must be using a yakju device. Not takju, yakjuux, yakjuxw, or any other variant.

If you own either of Archos' G9 series tablets (the 80 or 101), then an OTA should be coming your way. The update brings version 4.0.24, and includes not only a bump up to Android 4.0.4, but several enhancements and fixes, most of which deal with the Media Center:

Version 4.0.24 - October 10th, 2012

  • Android: IceCream Sandwich 4.0.4 version
  • Media Center: network indexing on network shortcut menu (+), network shortcuts creation is proposed on network share directory long press
  • Media Center: new simplified Movie/TV Shows/All Video views
  • Media Center Video: new video information view with backdrop display and chooser (click on backdrop to change it)
  • Media Center Video: poster can be changed by clicking on it in the video Information view
  • Video Scraper: faster media information retrieval process.

Good morning, owners of the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III Epic 4G Touch. When you get your breath back, check your device's update function in the settings menu. Sprint's got a maintenance update, assuming that you're running the latest stock and non-rooted version of Ice Cream Sandwich. Software version S:D710.10S.FI27 adds only a few bug fixes to the email, MMS, and VPN apps, so don't get your hopes up for Jelly Bean any time soon.

Back in late September, Motorola updated its ICS rollout timeline, highlighting that several updates had been delayed, one of which was the Atrix 2. Then, much to the surprise of basically everyone, Moto released details and a soak test of the Atrix 2's Android 4.0 update just three days later. Silly Moto.

According to the official AT&T blog, the update is ready for that masses and should be rolling out to users now.
