[Update: OTA Link] Android 5.1 OTA Update Now Rolling Out To The LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition

Before you ask, yes, this article is basically just another excuse for me to use Android Police's favorite device abbreviation, LGGP83GPE. (That's the short-lived Google Play Edition of the LG G Pad 8.3, from way back in 2013.) According to at least one Twitter user and, hey, my own tablet, the LGGP83GPE is getting its Android 5.1 update right about now.

Galaxy S5 On US Cellular Receives OTA Update With Android Lollipop

Carriers started sending over-the-air updates delivering Android 5.0 to the Galaxy S5 back in February, but there are still users who have yet to do the jump. Some of them have been waiting around on US Cellular, who has only just now announced that it's bringing Lollipop to Samsung's 2014 flagship.

By now, you know what to expect. We have covered Lollipop's changes in great detail. We've even had half a year to get an idea of how Samsung has flavored Lollipop to taste well with TouchWiz.

LG G2 On Verizon Wireless Receives OTA Update With Android Lollipop

The benefit of buying a flagship, aside from solid specs, is the likelihood of continuing to receive updates after the predecessor has launched. Carriers and manufacturers generally try to keep you current just long enough to make it through a two-year contract without complaining. So now we're seeing the year and a half old LG G2 on Verizon Wireless updated to Android 5.0.

Software version VS98039A brings in those changes that come with Android Lollipop, which we've covered in great detail.

T-Mobile Versions Of The Galaxy S6 And Galaxy S6 Edge Get Their First OTA Update

We're getting a few reports that some T-Mobile customers who preordered the Galaxy S6 and its edgier brother are already receiving their phones. When they turn them on, they might just be greeted by an over-the-air update right away. The new builds are actually dated March 22nd, so it's probable that every S6 and S6 Edge in T-Mobile's initial batch will need this update. The build is Android 5.0.2, labeled G920TUVU1AOCG and G925TUVU1AOCG for the S6 and S6 Edge, respectively.

Verizon Galaxy S5 Lollipop Update Is Rolling Out (For Real This Time)

Good news, Galaxy S5 owners on Verizon, your phone is finally getting... wait a second. Didn't we already post this story? Hang on a moment, I'll be right back.

This is what happens when you search for "samsung update" on Android Police.

Still here? Good, because I found this story from back in early February, which clearly stated that Verizon's version of the Samsung Galaxy S5 was already being updated to Android 5.0.

AT&T's Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Is Also Getting Its Lollipop Update Today

What's this? A current-generation AT&T phone and its year-old sibling getting updated on the same day? We have an embarrassment of riches, folks. Just a few hours after the Lollipop over-the-air update for the Galaxy Note 4 started on Ma Bell, the Galaxy Note 3 (from 2013) is getting the same treatment. AT&T's support page says that this is Android 5.0, build number N900AUCUEOC1.

As AT&T does with all their updates, the OTA will only start on Wi-Fi (and not that mobile connection that you're paying them to provide).

Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Lollipop Update Rolling Out In The US, Canada, And France

The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is one of the best all-around tablets on the market right now, if you don't mind a steep asking price and Samsung's rather heavy-handed software. The tablet launched with Android KitKat, but now it's getting an update to Android 5.0.2! ...just in time for owners to be miffed that they're not getting the bleeding-edge 5.1 release. Oh well, if wishes were horses we'd all be eating steak.
