Owners of ASUS' original Eee Pad Transformer have something to be excited about, as the update to software version 9.2.1.27 began rolling out earlier today.

While the update isn't too exciting (keeping the device at Android 4.0.3), it does bring a handful of fixes that TF101 users have been waiting for for some time. Among them are fixes for video playback, Chrome performance, and various app performance issues. Unofficial user reports indicate that the update may also bring smoother performance overall. Here's the full (official) change log:

9.2.1.27 Release Notes

  • Fix Chrome browser and black screen issues
  • Fix "Mobile Dock Battery saving mode" bug
  • Fix movie playback hang issue
  • Enhance MyLibrary and Vibe performance
  • Enhance AppBackup stability
  • Enhance Email stability
  • Update translation for Settings

As usual, users looking to grab the update manually need only check for system updates in their device's Settings menu.

If you just felt a disturbance in the internet, as if millions of Android users cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced, here's why: the Galaxy Nexus is no longer available via the Google Play Store. This comes after Apple won an injunction against the sale of Google's flagship device last week. As of now, the device is not allowed to be sold in the US which includes, but is obviously not limited to, online sales from Google.

At the moment, the site merely offers users the chance to sign up to be notified when the device will become available.

In a post to the Android Building group earlier today, Jean-Baptiste Queru announced that Samsung's Nexus S 4G has officially and fully been brought into the AOSP fold. The device is now fully supported by AOSP, meaning its CDMA – and WiMax – binaries can now be "properly" distributed. Here's the full text of the announcement:

We've been able to resolve the issues around Nexus S 4G, and we can now properly distribute its CDMA and WiMAX binaries. That allows Nexus S 4G to work with AOSP just as well as Nexus S.
As a result, we now consider Nexus S 4G to be fully supported in AOSP, with no restrictions.

Some users of HTC's Incredible S have received a sweet surprise today, with OTA updates to Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) rolling out throughout the day. Currently, the update seems to be going out to users throughout Europe, with no reports from North America just yet. The update is about 250MB, and brings the device's software up to version 4.10.405.1, with ICS running underneath Sense 3.6.

There's no word from HTC just yet on when the OTA will begin to roll out to other users, but we'll keep an eye on the story and update pending more information. In the meantime, those wanting to monitor the situation can check out this XDA thread.

Owners of unlocked versions of HTC's EVO 3D are starting to see the Ice Cream Sandwich update roll out across the globe; we've already seen reports of users receiving the update in Germany, Netherlands, Italy, the UK, and more.

The OTA update brings Android 4.0.3 and Sense 3.6 to the other-dimensional handset, but if you just can't stand the wait, XDA user AcerExtensa has pulled the update file and included instructions on how to flash it without updating hboot. This of course will break root, but getting it back is as simple as flashing another file.

This is only for unlocked EVO 3Ds and is not compatible with the Sprint variant of the device!

Update: Verizon just posted on its official blog that the rollout is slated to begin today, June 22.

Verizon has just uploaded the official support documents for the RAZR / RAZR MAXX Ice Cream Sandwich update (which by the way will be build 6.16.211 – the same build that recently leaked). With the docs going live just moments ago, users should expect the update to officially start rolling out any day now.

The update, besides upgrading your device to Android 4.0.4 (including many of the features we've come to love like folder creation, data usage, etc), brings global roaming, improved Bluetooth audio quality for music enjoyment, and other various other improvements to Verizon apps and basic phone functions.

About a month ago, Motorola updated its Ice Cream Sandwich update timeline. While we've already seen one update go live on schedule, we're still waiting on official word for the rest of the handsets on the list. Late last night, however, an ICS ROM for the Droid Bionic surfaced, and it seems to be a mostly-complete build.

Flashing this is extremely risky, and could potentially brick your device. You've been warned!

The leak first showed up on Droid Hive, and after digging through pages and pages of comments, users seem to be having a pretty good experience with it thus far.

Following last month's Transformer Pad 300 (TF300) OTA update to v9.4.3.29, ASUS is pushing out a new bug fixer v9.4.3.30 with a host of improvements, the most notable one of which is the upgraded camera firmware. I just completed the process on my tablet, and it only took a few minutes.

wm_Screenshot_2012-06-20-23-05-26 wm_Screenshot_2012-06-20-23-05-11 wm_Screenshot_2012-06-20-23-22-51

So what's new in .30? This question is answered by none other than... ASUS Finland, of course, which provided the upcoming changelog almost a week ago on the Facebook page in all its Engrish glory:

TF300T ICS v9.4.3.30
- SYSTEM – improve stability of Chrome browser
- SYSTEM – improve camera performance
- Pictures more colorful
- better audio- white balance(AWB) and auto-focus(AE)
- better continues-auto-focus (CAF)
- SYSTEM – fix the bug “wifi occasionally fail to connect after resume from suspend status”
- Appbackup – fix the bug “have to key-in password again after change screen orientation”

To force your device to check for this update, go to Settings > About > System Firmware Update and press Check Update.

Owners of Archos' G9 series of tablets should be receiving an update today, bringing the software version of their devices to 4.0.7. The update contains mostly bug fixes, but also enhances graphics performance:

Version 4.0.7 - June 19th, 2012

  • Applications: fix no audio when launching video capture impacting applications like Skype
  • Display: graphics performance enhancements
  • Hard drive based products: avoid potential loss of hard drive when 3G USB port is switched on with no peripheral attached
  • Wi-Fi: fix some more disconnect cases happening on some access points

Archos has been fairly consistent about updating the devices regularly - the last OTA update went out just over a month ago.

And you thought carriers/manufacturers didn't care about their customers! You should be ashamed of yourself! Turns out that carriers actually do care - why else would Big Red be preparing an OTA update for the old school Droid Incredible. Sure, it's far from a major update, but it it something:

Device Features, Improvements, & Fixes

  • Record and send a Visual Voice Mail to up to 10 recipients while seeing all parties in a list.
  • Improvements made in Bluetooth Car connectivity.

Applications & Widgets

  • Resolved issue where purchases Verizon App ringtones could not be saved to the device.

It's not much, but there's something to be said about an OTA update coming to a two-year old device.
