If you use your Android device to do work, then a good office suite is absolutely clutch. And when it comes to such a tool, you'd be hard pressed to find something better than OfficeSuite Pro. It hit version 7 today, which brings along with it several new features and enhancements, including an improved UI, sidebar navigation in the file browser, templates, and extended cloud support to include Microsoft SkyDrive, as well as folder support in Google Docs.

Newsflash, Android users: the Google Drive/Docs app is terrible. It's just about competent enough to read the documents you've written elsewhere, but for editing and creating new Word, Excel, and PDF documents, you need something with a little more oomph. One of the best choices out there is OfficeSuite, and it's also one of the most expensive, at $15. But right now you can - and should - pick it up for a single dollar.

I've tried a lot of the Android word processor options out there, and I can say that OfficeSuite is definitely one of the best available.

OfficeSuite Pro is one of the more powerful collections of productivity software for Android (and Cameron's personal favorite). Today it's getting just a bit better by adding several new features, including the ability to print via Google Cloud Print, convert text documents to PDF files, spell-check, and compatibility with SkyDrive.

Here's a complete list of what's new:

6.5 New Features:

  • Print - print documents with Google Cloud Print or previously installed third party printer
  • Convert to PDF - convert your text documents to PDF files
  • Spell-check (based on Google ICS spell-check)
  • New supported formats - opening of XLSM, PPTM, PPSM and DOCM formats
  • Thumbnail preview in Slideshow mode
  • Animated Slideshow -support for animated slideshows
  • Embedded images & charts (in Excel module)
  • Now compatible with Microsoft SkyDrive
  • WiFi Direct support

Although, some of the new additions may be having some problems.

If you missed out the last time OfficeSuite Pro 6 was on sale for $0.99, you can stop being sad now - it's back on sale until July 4th! OfficeSuite Pro is my personal favorite office suite for Android, as its blend of excellent features, intuitive and easy to use interface, and cloud storage integration (yes, I did quote myself there), make it as top-notch of a choice that you'll find on the Store.

So, if you're looking for an awesome office suite, but don't want to shell out $10+ for one, you better grab this one for a buck.

I'm not going to lie: I have an unhealthy obsession with mobile office software. I've tried nearly every one available in the Play Store, but I keep coming back to OfficeSuite Pro. Its blend of excellent features, intuitive and easy to use interface, and cloud storage integration (Box, Dropbox, SugarSync, and Google Drive) makes it my personal favorite document, spreadsheet, and presentation editing software for my Android devices.

For a limited time, you can snag this excellent office suite for a mere $0.99 - a full $14.00 off of its regular price. OfficeSuite Pro 6 offers support for a number of commonly-used documents, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and PDFs; it also features a built-in file browser and email reader, so you can get more done without having to navigate away from the app.

A PR just hit our inbox from the guys over at Quickoffice detailing their new "Connect by Quickoffice" app. Since we like Quickoffice, we decided to take a closer look. Here's the general gist of it: if you're a Quickoffice user, you can install the new app for free (with limited functionality) and save all of your documents in the cloud, allowing you to access view them from any PC, Mac, tablet, or phone. For an additional fee of $45-$70 per year, you can also sync more devices (the free one is limited to two devices), as well as edit your files.

Sure, you can use Google Docs on your phone or tablet for free, but what if you crave something a little more robust than Google's web-based offering? You would usually have to drop some serious cash on a full office suite in the Play Store, but today you can get a great deal on OfficeSuite Pro 5 which is on sale for just $2.99 through April 4th, a huge discount over its normal $15 price.

OfficeSuite Pro 5 comes with all the features you would expect from a full mobile office suite. For starters, it can edit and create Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents.

I don't usually post Amazon Appstore apps outside of our social media accounts, but today I felt compelled. There are a few options when it comes to office replacement apps that can read and write all your docs, presentations, and spreadsheets - most of them costing over $10. I've been eyeing OfficeSuite for a while, but never really bothered to try it out.

Well, I just did because OfficeSuite Pro 5 is free at the Amazon Appstore today, and after playing with it, I have to say it's the best office app for Android I've tried so far (at least based on my first impressions).
