The deal is back - Quickoffice Pro is $2.99 yet again in the Appstore.

For mobile document editing, there has always been one clear choice: Quickoffice Pro. But, for those who only need it occasionally, justifying the $10 price tag may just not be possible. With that in mind, the Amazon Appstore comes to the rescue, as you can get this mobile Microsoft Office compatible suite for only $2.99!

If you're not familiar with the Quickoffice Pro, it allows you to  view, edit, and save Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files all on the go from your mobile device. Not only that, but it also features Dropbox, Google Docs, Box, SugarSync, Huddle, and MobileMe integration, for super easy file sharing.

If you're not familiar with Microsoft Lync, don't feel bad - I had no idea what it was before today, either. Makes sense, because I don't work in an environment where Lync is used (or would be useful), but for those who do, it's actually pretty cool. In a nutshell, it's an IM/contact management/VoIP client used for Exchange - think MSN Messenger with a GTalk twist built for the corporate environment .

The Android version allows you to see your colleagues' availability on-the-go, as well as initiation an instant message, email, or phone call directly from the app. You can also connect to Lync conference calls quickly and easily - no passcodes or conference numbers required.

One of the most popular PDF readers for desktop PCs, Foxit Reader, has now made its way into Android space. Foxit Mobile PDF is available in the Android Market for $2.99, and it aims to make a more pleasurable experience of PDF viewing on mobile devices (because, let's face it, the current experience sucks).

With Foxit, you can manipulate PDF files in a number of ways, including the ability to annotate documents and create bookmarks of specific areas. Foxit is claiming Mobile PDF as "the best PDF reader for Android" due to its reflow mode that automatically fits any PDF content to the screen size of your mobile device.

I don't usually post Amazon Appstore apps outside of our social media accounts, but today I felt compelled. There are a few options when it comes to office replacement apps that can read and write all your docs, presentations, and spreadsheets - most of them costing over $10. I've been eyeing OfficeSuite for a while, but never really bothered to try it out.

Well, I just did because OfficeSuite Pro 5 is free at the Amazon Appstore today, and after playing with it, I have to say it's the best office app for Android I've tried so far (at least based on my first impressions).

If you've ever needed to create a PDF on the go, then you know that there really haven't been many options for doing so in the past, but that all changes today - Adobe just released CreatePDF for Android.

Using the same PDF creation as Adobe Acrobat, this app allows you to create a PDF on any Android 2.1+ device, including Honeycomb. It uses Adobe's online service for file creation, so the process doesn't actually occur on your device - but don't worry, Adobe says that the service does not keep a copy of the original file or the PDF.

Among many other features that you would expect to see from an app like this, it also offers PDF sharing and management, so you can easily send your newly created PDF's via email or Bluetooth.

Has your XOOM experience just been incomplete without the ability to view Power Point presentations and Excel spreadsheets? Well, hold on to your triple mocha decaf vanilla sugar free latte, then - QuickOffice Pro HD has arrived to super-size your productivity for maximum tablet utility.

Seriously, though, QuickOffice is a must-have if you need to view formatted documents as part of justifying that Honeycomb-tablet purchase. In addition to reading Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files (both the old 2003 and 2007+ file versions), QuickOffice Pro comes with a powerful file browser utility that hooks into your Google Docs, Dropbox, Box, Huddle, SugarSync, and MobileMe accounts to make accessing your cloud-synced documents a breeze.

After many weeks of speculations, Nokia and Microsoft finally announced minutes ago that the 2 companies are entering a strategic partnership "to build a new global mobile ecosystem."

Nokia has been struggling to keep up with the exploding smartphone market in the past years, and it was clear that something needed to be done.

MeeGo, Nokia's latest bet at replacing its aging Symbian system with a new, open sourced, Linux-based OS, has been in development since 2010, but no phones running this OS have been released by the company yet.

In an effort to regain market share, Nokia had to pick - either join forces with Android, a giant growing at incredible speeds, or side with the newcomer - Windows Phone 7 from Microsoft, a company Nokia can trust (their current CEO, Stephen Elop, spent almost 3 years as a Microsoft VP of BizDev).
