If you've been waiting for a sale to grab a new Android-powered phone, RadioShack is looking to give you the chance to get just about any phone you could want for $50 off. Customers buying a device for upgrade or new two-year agreement can save $50 when they spend $99.99 or more. The deal will run from now until Saturday, July 28th in stores, and until "the end of August" in RadioShack's online store.

T-Mobile is starting to get aggressive with customer acquisition and retention, and in light of less than stellar fiscal performance and the news of the AT&T deal, it's not hard to see why.

On April 13, the carrier will begin offering a new off-contract smartphone plan, and it's a steal - for $59.99 a month (down from $79.99), you'll get unlimited talk, text and data*. But, there are some significant catches.

That didn't take long. A collaborative effort between numerous Android hackers just managed to crack the Thunderbolt's bootloader wide open, successfully booting a custom recovery image. They also incidentally discovered a new root method in the process. Credit goes to jcase, jamezelle, and scotty2 (and all of andirc) for working out the details, and ProTekk and Trident for putting their shiny new Thunderbolts on the line. Here's the visual proof:

We'll keep you apprised on the situation with instructions on how to go about unlocking your own Thunderbolt as we get more information.

Facebook for Android has been notoriously slow to release updates and features in general, and last night's update reaffirmed that the app is nowhere near the top of Facebook's priority list. The Deals feature has been available on iOS since early November of 2010, only reaching Android almost 3 months later. According to the changelog, the Deals functionality is the only addition to the app, so let's take a quick look at how exactly you are going to find said deals.

So look, Verizon's price for the Motorola Droid 2 Global is nice (or at least pretty decent for a phone loaded with a 1.2GHz processor and dual GSM/CDMA radios), but it can't stand up to the deals you and I both know Wirefly's been cooking up. Well now the Internet's largest authorized retailer of cell phones has come out and made it official - it's selling both the white and the regular versions of the phone for just $99.99 with a new two-year contract.

Get The HTC EVO 4G From Sprint.com For $150 ($50 Off)

If you're in the market for a new phone or are looking to buy an EVO 4G specifically, the deal I just found on Fatwallet may be exactly what you needed.

The regular price of the phone at Sprint.com is $199 after a mail-in rebate, compared to places like Best Buy that will replace the mail-in rebate with an instant one. However, you can get an extra $50 off if you buy it from Sprint.
