It looks like those still anxious to get their hands on Samsung's new phablet – The Galaxy Note – are in luck - Amazon Wireless is offering the Note for just $249.99 when customers upgrade or agree to a new 2 year contract. That's about $50 less than AT&T's price.

Even better, Amazon Wireless is giving customers the option of a white or black version of the Note (though the color selections are officially known as ceramic and carbon).

The day has finally come, AT&T subscribers - the monstrous Samsung Galaxy Note is now available. For the uninitiated, the G Note is the Incredible Hulk of call-capable devices, blurring the lines between phone and tablet. It's a powerhouse device, albeit targeting a niche demographic:

  • 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • 1GB of ram
  • 16GB of internal memory, expandable via microSD
  • 8MP camera with 1080p HD video capabilities
  • 2MP front-facing camera
  • Gigantic 2,500 mAh battery
  • 178g (6.28 ounces)
  • 5.78" x 3.27" x 0.38"
  • Android 2.3.6 with Samsung's latest TouchWiz UX

Today has been a busy day in the world of rooting – we've already seen root access given to the Xoom Family Edition and the LG Spectrum. The Galaxy Note, slated for official release tomorrow (but already in the hands of some eager pre-order customers) has also been granted root today, thanks to Da_G over at XDA. The method appears to be similar to the Epic 4G Touch's original root procedure, and requires just a couple of quick Odin commands.

Rumors are flying left and right on the internet this morning about a potentially new tablet called the Galaxy Note 10.1 accidentally outed by Samsung in an invitation to its 'Developer Day' at Mobile World Congress. The Note moniker clearly suggests one feature that Sammy itself has already hinted at: the S-Pen.

It was my initial reaction to write this off as a simple typo, but thanks to a bit of investigative work by The Verge, it appears that this device may indeed be legitimate.

Yesterday afternoon, @SamsungMobileUS revealed that the company would be launching a "device so revolutionary only an ad in America's biggest game [the Super Bowl] can do it justice." Many on Twitter and across the web assumed it would be the Galaxy S III or a new tablet; while it was doubtful in light of recent rumors that it would be the SGSIII, the new tablet idea was at least feasible.

As it turns out, Samsung is "revealing" the U.S.

Update: Anymode, after what we assume was a good-natured cease and desist letter from AT&T, has denied any of the information in its CES Media Alert (pictured below) is true. If we're being frank, they're 100% completely full of beans. Someone made available information they weren't supposed to, and someone got upset. Too bad official photos of the AT&T Galaxy Note were leaked this morning.

The stylus-toting Samsung Galaxy Note (or as I call it, the Samsung Galaxy S II: Andre The Giant Edition) has been quite successful overseas, and US consumers have been clamoring for a chance to get their hands (both of them, mind you) on the mega-sized 5.3" handset.

The Samsung Galaxy S II.

This really comes as no surprise. The Samsung Galaxy S II is still one of the most powerful handsets on the market, and with an Ice Cream Sandwich update inbound sometime in the coming year, it's only going to get better.

The Galaxy Note from Samsung, a device that has an almost cult-like following at this point. Those who love it, really love it. Those who hate it, well... just hate it. Some say it's too big, while others lust for its 5.3-inch Super AMOLED HD display. Unfortunately, U.S. users have been left wanting since the Note's release a few months ago. Sure, we've seen tell-tale signs that it is indeed going to land stateside eventually, but Samsung has now removed all doubt.

galaxy tab 7.7 galaxy note

If the insanely high-res screens of the Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab 7.7 have you drooling, you're certainly not alone. But if you live in the US, it's all too likely that you will never have the opportunity to see either of the devices in person.

At IFA 2011, the very same conference where the 7.7 and the Note were made official, a Samsung representative told GottaBeMobile that there are currently no plans to sell the gadgets in the US.

Buried deep within Samsung's Unpacked app is evidence of a few upcoming devices set to be announced at the IFA conference in Berlin, which begins on September 1st. Among the outed devices are two new additions to the Galaxy line, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the Galaxy Note.

As you might expect, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 will most likely be a 7.7 inch tablet, judging by the naming guidelines set in place by the Tab 10.1 and Tab 8.9.
