Yesterday, Google announced the kickoff of the KitKat OTAs for the Nexus 7 and 10, though we haven't seen the update for the 2012 N7 actually pop up until a few minutes ago. (If you have a 2013 Nexus 7, head over here.)

T-Mobile Announces Launch Dates For Its Nexus 5 And Nexus 7, Is Now Accepting Pre-Orders For The Latter

Activating a Nexus 5 on T-Mobile is far from a difficult process, but if you missed out on the first wave of Nexus 5s on Google Play, T-Mobile will soon be ready to sell one to you themselves. The company is launching the latest Nexus handset on November 14th online, and they will introduce it in-stores a week later.

Rather than paying $349 for the phone on Google Play, T-Mobile customers can buy it for $41.99 down, followed by 24 monthly payments of $17.

[Deal Alert] Grab A 32GB 2012 Nexus 7 For $99 From GameStop Or Staples Till Stock Is Gone

Guys, this is pretty nuts. GameStop is apparently trying to get rid of its remaining 2012 Nexus 7 stock, so it's slashing the price down to a Benjamin till they're all gone. That's a hell of a deal, especially considering KitKat is just around the corner for this device. And it'll probably run better than ever on KK thanks to Project Svelte.

If your local GameStop is already out of stock (they're all running low apparently), we're hearing that Staples will price match, so you should be able to grab it for a hundred spot at either place.

Just a quick note to anyone waiting for full OS factory images and drivers for existing Nexus devices (outside of the Galaxy Nexus, which bit the dust with KitKat) - as is customary, they will follow over-the-air updates released according to Google's favorite timeline: "in the coming weeks."

The Nexus 5 factory images will be out later today, but don't sit there hitting F5 expecting factory images for the Nexus 4, 7 (new and old), or 10 to pop up any time soon.

Google Updates Play Store Devices UI To Better Handle Multiple Configurations

The air is almost electric as we get ever nearer to the announcement of Android 4.4 and the Nexus 5. Of course, we don't know exactly when that will be, but tomorrow has been heavily rumored. Perhaps adding more fuel to that fire, Google has updated the Play Store listing for the Nexus 7 with a new interface better suited to selecting among multiple configurations.

Now when clicking the link to the new Nexus 7, you'll get a page with drop-down lists to choose the storage size and connectivity.

New Nexus 7 2013 Commercials Cater To Dog Lovers And Night Owls

The first ad for the 2013 model of the Nexus 7 was pretty perfect: combining a nervous nerdy kid and a common fear somehow made for an incredibly effective way to show off Google's combination of hardware and services. These two new ads aren't quite so good as "Fear Less," but they combine the same nearly universal sentiments with tablet-focused features.

The first uses a student to show off Google Now's auto-populating cards, Google Play Music, Google's contextual search, and the new textbook rental features.

Suddenly, A Wild Android 4.3.1 Appears - LTE Nexus 7 Receiving Android 4.3.1 OTA (JLS36I)

Without any warning, Google started rolling out Android 4.3.1 (JLS36I) late Thursday night. The first device to receive it is the 2013 LTE Nexus 7 (also known as deb and razorg).

At the moment, it's unclear what exactly the new features and bug fixes in this update could be, but it's worth noting that while Google has patched 4.3 in the past several times, this is the first 4.3 release to increment the version number.

Nexus 7 2013 Portenzo HardBack, BookCase And Alano Review: The Nicest (And Most Expensive) Homes For Your Tablet

Android devices are a little under-represented in the area of high-end accessories, and when it comes to cases, you can't get much more high-end than Portenzo. But the Nexus 7 has carved itself a nice little niche, and the American case maker has extended its full line of book-style protective coverings to the Nexus 7 2013. With three case styles ranging from $35 to a whopping $145 (more than half as expensive as the base model Nexus 7 itself), these accessories are not for the feint of heart or the light of wallet.

KitKat Provides Free Nexus 7 To Those Willing To 'Have A Seat' As Part Of Android Promotion

Whether you consider Google's partnership with the KitKat brand a delightful cross-promotional play, a brand sell-out (though officially no money changed hands), or something else entirely, there's no denying both sides have enthusiastically pursued the team-up which promises some lucky winners free Nexus 7 tablets, and Android users the still mysterious Android 4.4 KitKat.

Giving us a break (get it?) from the hype surrounding the next Nexus phone, KitKat recently held a promotion in which contestants need only "have a break" to win a new Nexus 7.
