Android 6.0 Marshmallow will have some cool improvements to external storage support. This has led to speculation that Google might be planning to include microSD card slots in the new Nexus phones. Some FCC documents seemed to support that possibility, but we've confirmed with multiple sources that Google won't be offering a microSD card slot. It's still all internal storage in the Nexus phones. Read More
Tomorrow is the big expected Nexus day, but that doesn't mean you have to wait to find out what's going on with this year's devices. Obviously. I mean, what more is there to know about the Nexus 5X and the larger, oddly-shaped Nexus 6P at this point?
Here's something. Through the information we've acquired, we've found that, unlike most previous models, this year's devices won't be available in carrier stores. Read More
The leaks continue to flow out of Mountain View. The latest information on Huawei's Nexus 6P, the larger and presumably more expensive of the two Nexus devices Google is expected to announce next week, comes from a public image gallery posted to Imgur. It's a series of slides that appear to be designed for retail employees to use as an information and promotional tool. The slides include a set of hardware specifications and new photos. Read More

We're only a few days away from the new Nexus announcement, and it's prime time for some leaks. We've already revealed the Nexus 5X and 6P boxes (along with confirming the names), but what about the phones themselves? It's a little less than a week until Google reveals its new Nexus devices in San Francisco, but as seems to happen every year, we know pretty much every detail beforehand. Oddly, one of the last things we knew about the new LG and Huawei Nexus phones were their actual names. A rumor last week suggested that LG's 5.2-inch follow-up to the 2013 Nexus 5 would be called the Nexus 5X, and that Huawei's 5.7-inch flagship would go by Nexus 6P. Android Police can now confirm the rumors with these exclusive images of the retail packaging for both phones. The Nexus 5X is above and the Nexus 6P is below. Read More
Google just sent out the invitation below for an event in San Francisco on September 29th. This will almost definitely be the venue for the unveiling of the next Nexus phones, rumored to be manufactured by Huawei and LG. There's also a strong possibility of a new Chromecast, and who knows what else Google may have planned.
We'll be live at the event on the 29th at 9AM PST, and you'll be able to catch it streamed on Google's YouTube channel, as well, at youtube.com/google. Read More
