While AT&T's LTE network may not be nearly as expansive as Verizon's, the company is still making good progress on broadening its other 4G reach. It announced today news of yet another expansion, this time bringing its brand of 4G LTE to six new markets:

AT&T's long, drawn out game of catch-up with Verizon is moving one step closer to completion. According to AT&T, Cleveland, New Orleans, Staten Island, and 9 other cities will be added to the list that will taste the sweet LTE waters "soon." The 12 markets are scheduled to receive LTE in "April, May and into the early summer."

Verizon may have gotten a head start, but did you know AT&T is building an LTE network too? It's true! In fact, today the mothership activated new networks in Raleigh, NC and Tampa, FL and surrounding areas including Sarasota and Manatee counties, and Durham, NC. So, if you've been living near, but not quite in these cities, this is your time.

Adding to its ever-expanding LTE network, Verizon Wireless is all set to hit the blazing fast button in 11 new markets tomorrow, December 15th - a date also rumored to be the U.S. release of the Galaxy Nexus.
