In the realm of dual-stick shooters, Android’s offerings seem to be plentiful. However, one company’s name stands out due to their past success: Glu Mobile’s Gun Bros is a franchise that many gamers will recognize. Gun Bros seemed to have it all: an addicting premise, no shortage of customization, and perhaps most importantly, controls that didn’t suck. I’ve played my fair share of Gun Bros, so when Glu announced that they would be releasing a similar title (only this time, with cars!) I couldn’t help but be curious.

A platform can never have too many zombies, and thanks to a new co-op survival game called Call of Mini, Android now has a few more.

The popular iOS game came to the Play Store yesterday, and allows players to work with each other and take down hoards of zombies with whatever weapons they can find. Machine gun, chainsaw, rocket launcher, anything goes.

As well as a co-op mode, the game also allows you to play against other people in VS mode, from which you can gain various rewards.

Gameloft's Dungeon Hunter 3 came out late last year, giving players access to a huge role-playing arena combat game with no admission price. The game has 4 different classes, 16 arenas, and 5 difficulty levels. Of course, none of that stopped people from complaining about the in-app purchases. But the new update sweetens the deal with honest-to-goodness multiplayer.

The game was supposed to launch with multiplayer, but Gameloft couldn't get things together in time.

ships n' battles

An Android port of the classic board game Battleship isn't, by any means, a new or novel idea - apps like Naval Clash have been offering this functionality for ages now - but once you've laid your eyes on Ships N' Battles (the latest such port), you'll never go back to the previous efforts.

Ships N' Battles, Skahal Studios' first foray into the Play Store, merges the classic board game with fancy new HD graphics.

Gameloft, creator of great Android games you feel like you've seen before, is at it again with N.O.V.A. 3, the third (obviously) in the sci-fi FPS shooter series that follows Master Chief Kal Wardin as he fights off the Covenant Volterite armada. The game's description touts an epic storyline and, frankly, we'd expect nothing less from Bungee Gameloft.

In all seriousness, despite the game's similarities to other major properties, Gameloft is well-known for making solid, enjoyable, if familiar, games.

Minecraft, the wildly popular online creativity toy, has also had a pocket version of itself in development for a while. Up until now, though, you could only really mine. As of today, though, Mojang, the company behind the game, has released version 0.3.0 that finally includes (and you may want to sit down for this one) crafting!

Up until this point, you've been able to scavenge around for materials, but if you wanted to do anything with them, you're stuck.

Mobile games are a hot category these days. Multiplayer tablet games, on the other hand, are a bit harder to come by. The larger form factor lends itself well to multiple players gathered around a virtual game board, but few apps pursue this route. Fireballs HD is one of those few. Up to four players can join a Tron-like game, competing to keep their fireball alive without hitting the trails of others.

It looks like it has been pulled from the Market (we're not entirely sure why, but it probably has to do with copyright violation). Fret not - we've got the apk for you to download right here.

Seeing as Bomberman has been perennially resurrected since its 1983 release, chances are extremely high that you've played some variation of the game in your lifetime. Now, if you're like me, you seriously jones for some Bomberman action from time to time, and are only satisfied once you renter the Bomber Nebula to blow your way through mazes.

Shadowgun, a game we recently reviewed, is a Tegra-straining, visually impressive, polished action game that has been quickly garnering attention since it was announced. Looking to take players' experience over the top, MadFinger Games opened a thread on their own forums earlier this month, indicating that they were working hard on multiplayer capabilities for Shadowgun, asking for users' "wishes, opinions, or ideas."

Shadowgun is already a great experience, and at the low price of $4.99 US, it's an amazing value.

First-person shooter lovers, if you've been waiting for a good game in the FPS genre with multiplayer capabilities and awesome 3D graphics to hit the Android Market, you're going to want to check out Gameloft's latest offering - N.O.V.A. 2 HD that was just released into the Market.

Gameloft, which caught a lot of flak for avoiding the official Android Market for years, recently reversed its stance and vowed to start taking the Market more seriously.
