t-mobile mytouch 4g

The HTC-made T-Mobile myTouch 4G was originally priced at $149.99 for new users signing up for a contract and $450 off-contract. Then in early November 2010, the price dropped to $79.99. Today until 5/5/11 (i.e. tomorrow), the mid-range Android device is completely free on T-Mobile with a 2-year contract after a $250 "instant discount" and $199.99 "web-only discount".

Strangely, the refurbished models are still priced at $49.99. Someone at T-Mobile must have neglected to change their prices!

Well folks, the day has finally come: the Gingerbread-based CyanogenMod 7 Release Candidates have landed for 17 Android devices. These "RCs" are suitable, generally speaking, for everyday use and have been road-tested enough that TeamDouche feels they're almost ready for prime time.

While we linked a pretty impressive Wirefly deal for pre-ordering the MyTouch 4G a while back, if you didn't take advantage of it, the phone is now available to everyone on T-Mobile's website for $199 after a mail-in rebate on a 2-year contract, new or extended. Presumably the device can be found at your local T-Mobile store as well.

If you're not fond of the contractual ball and chain, the MyTouch 4G will set you back $450 purchased standalone, sans contract.
