According to a leaked shot from Sam's Club that fell into the hands of Android Central, we should expect Samsung's newest Sprint device, the Conquer, to hit the streets on July 24th. The Conquer is a mid-ranger with modest specs:
- 3.5 inch 320x480 display
- 1Ghz single-core Snapdragon
- 3.2MP rear shooter, 1.3MP front camera
- Android 2.3
Also expected in July is the Motorola Photon 4G - but there is no exact release date as of yet. Read More
Well, isn't this interesting... it appears that Android Central has gotten a hold of a leaked screen with some pretty promising release dates for some highly anticipated phones, including the Motorola Droid Bionic. Let's push that one of to the side for just a moment though and address the first phone on the list: the Droid 3.
We've basically known everything there is to know about the D3 for a while. Read More
Update 6.30.11: This deal is back for another go! We've updated the links to reflect the new listing, so grab it while it's hot.
It's not often that we see Motorola's Honeycomb tablets on sale, so when I saw $100 off the dual-core XOOM Wi-Fi as this morning's eBay Daily Deal, I had to let you guys know as soon as possible.
The deal is for the larger 32GB version and brings the price down from $599.99 to $499.99. Read More
As an Atrix owner, these past couple of days have been a bit of a "Christmas in (almost) July" celebration. First, we get confirmation that our bootloader will be unlocked with Android 2.3.4. After that, the phone is placed on sale on Amazon for one measly cent. Then XDA Developers say "screw that; we'll give you an unlock on Froyo!"
Now, in perhaps the biggest gift yet, the genius minds over at XDA have devised a way for users to install a pre-release build of Gingerbread 2.3.4 on their phones. Read More
If there is anything that we don't know about the Motorola Droid 3 at this point, it's the release date. That last bit of the puzzle looks to have been found by Droid Attic though, as they have gotten a hold of an internal image from Best Buy that suggests a July 14th release date.
That release date is one week after VZW's rumored transition from unlimited to tiered data, so if you're thinking about making the switch to Big Red for this phone, get ready to watch those MBs closely. Read More
It's been a few weeks since AT&T changed its stance on sideloading apps - but the changeover has been a slow process thus far, as there has been but one update pushed out. It appears that Ma Bell may be taking a different, albeit much easier, approach to enabling sideloading now, as it has released an enabler app for the Bravo into the Android Market.
It's an extremely easy process: install the app, configure your device to allow sideloading, and that's it. Read More
Even though we reported yesterday that the Motorola Atrix would be receiving the option to unlock its bootloader, a group of dedicated developers on XDA have found a way to do, even on Froyo. The update involves flashing a specifically-coded SBF, and then running commands from the fastboot menu of the phone. If all goes well, you'll get the fabled "device is now unlocked" message, and you will be one step closer to killing that damned Motoblur. Read More
A few days back, we listed Motorola's cutting-edge ATRIX 4G as one of the best five Android phones for budget-conscious consumers. At the time, it was just $30 at Amazon Wireless - a very good deal for a dual-core smartphone capable of turning into a laptop (though said laptop is expensive and somewhat limited in terms of functionality).
Today, Amazon Wireless has slashed the ATRIX's price further still: it's now just $0.01 on a new two-year contract. Read More
The Motorola XOOM, the world's first Honeycomb tablet, costs a pretty penny - between $600 and $800, depending on the variant. If you picked up a XOOM in the last few months, you've probably asked yourself whether you should get some sort of protection, and, if so, which option you should go with.
Motorola has released a few official cases, such as the $40 PORTFOLIO, but most aftermarket case manufacturers, such as Otterbox, Amzer, Trident, and others, haven't put out many options. Read More
The Motorola Atrix has been making some serious waves as of late - first, we saw a Gingerbread test build that had an unlockable bootloader, and now the crew over at Android and Me have gotten a hold of some exclusive images showing the Atrix running Android 2.3.4 with the latest version of Gingerblur. Before I continue, have a look:
If these images are to be believed, then the Motorola Atrix is back in the game in a big way. Read More
