Motorola Ordered To Pay Fujifilm $10 Million For Camera Patent Infringement

If corporate patent litigation was a soap opera, it would be at once the most interesting and most snooze-inducing show on television. The latest twist comes from a three-year-old suit by Fujifilm against Motorola Mobility, which was still a Google company instead of a Lenovo one when the suit first started. Fuji alleged that Moto violated three camera patents and one wireless patent in its phones without licensing. A San Francisco court invalidated Fuji's claims on all but one of them, so Moto will have to pay for the privilege of one camera patent.

Now the Moto 360's Google Store listing has received a price drop as well. The device is showing up there for $165. And this doesn't appear to be a sale, either.

The First Generation Moto X, E, and G LTE Will All Skip Android 5.0, Go Straight To 5.1

If you're carrying a first generation Moto X, E, or G LTE, then you've likely noticed a distinct lack of Lollipop running on your device. The main reason for that is, well, because Motorola has been testing the 5.0.2 update in several markets over the past several weeks, but it still hasn't released it publicly. According to Motorola's David Schuster, they've also been testing 5.1 on the aforementioned devices in tandem with 5.0.2, and now the company has decided to skip 5.0 altogether and bump those devices directly to 5.1.

[Shocker] Even After Launching The Nexus 6, Verizon Still Won't Officially Activate One That Wasn't Purchased From The Carrier

It's been known since launch that Verizon wouldn't give you a SIM card for a Nexus 6 unless you tricked its system. With that said, the assumption always seemed to be that Big Red would at least add IMEI numbers for phones purchased from Google Play once it launched the phone in official capacity. This assumption had historical precedent to back it up, as Verizon did exactly that when it launched the Nexus 7 LTE six months after everyone else.
