The award-winning Ustwo Studios is well known for the hit Escher-inspired game Monument Valley, and now Google has enlisted the developer to help show off the Pixel 4's new Motion Sense quick gestures. In Headed South, you play as a bird trying to flock with others while flying through brightly-colored worlds. There's only one problem I've found so far: it doesn't work.
Levels is a new video series from Red Bull that dives into the world of indie gaming. The latest episode reveals that ustwo, the creators of Monument Valley, is currently working on two new games for mobile. Both titles are described as departures from the Monument Valley franchise.
Ustwo's beautiful Monument Valley titles are very clever, satisfying puzzlers, but at $4 and $5 for the original and its sequel, respectively, they're a little pricier than some mobile gamers are comfortable with. If you've been hesitant to try them out, maybe this will entice you: both are currently just 99 cents on the Play Store.
Deadline has revealed that ustwo games will collaborate with Paramount Pictures and Patrick Osborne to create a Monument Valley movie. Patrick Osborne is best known for writing and directing the animated shorts Feast (a film that won the Oscar for best animated short film in 2015) and Pearl, but this newly announced project will supposedly contain both live action and CG elements to create some sort of hybrid. The premise appears to revolve around live-action characters that venture into the game’s animated world.

Yes, I'm waxing lyrical about a game, but it deserves it. For the 1-2 hours that it takes you to complete the levels, you are entirely transported into its eery and magical world, and that's its biggest charm. Bertel already reviewed Monument Valley, but it would take you more time to read the review than to download the Amazon Appstore on your Android device and grab it.

I've expressed my fondness for this game before, so I don't need to ramble on too much here when I tell you that, assuming you can put up with having Amazon as the distributor, this is a deal that you're going to want to jump on if you have yet to put the immersive puzzler through its paces.
