Of course after our app roundup earlier today, we've got to have a roundup of the very best games from last month. This time we have a few more than usual, bumping the count to eight. While our shortlist isn't so short this time around, all the games discussed are well worth checking out. From racing to hidden object, April 2013 had something for just about every type of gamer.

Readers probably don't need to be reminded that each month, we distill all of the Play Store's latest entries into a selection of the very best apps of the previous month, hand-picking a shortlist to save you both time and money in testing everything out. This month, though, there were just too many worthy apps to cut down to the usual five, so we've got a slightly-less-short list of the best six apps from April 2013. YouTube Hits 1 Billion Monthly Users, With More Traffic Coming From Smartphones Each Year

YouTube announced something fairly incredible yesterday: it now has more than 1 billion unique visitors to the site every single month. That's a LOT of people, almost half of everybody around the world with internet access, in fact.

What's even more interesting is how people are reaching the site. A post on Google's AdWords Agency blog took a look at how the current generation, or 'Generation C', accesses content on YouTube, and found that a lot of the traffic is coming from smartphones, as opposed to traditional PCs. When looking at the current generation, they found a 76% increase in smartphone traffic, year-on-year, with only a 33% increase in traffic from desktops.

Rhapsody App Turns 3.0, Celebrates By Adding Offline Support For Individual Tracks And Albums

While services like Spotify and Rdio may steal the spotlight most of the time, there are other streaming subscription services out there. Related: we need a better name than "streaming subscription services." Rhapsody, originally founded by Real Networks and since become an independent entity, has a pretty impressive library that users can now download for offline playback. An essential feature for a modern cloud music player. Update: To clarify, it's the ability to download songs on an individual or per-album basis that is new. Users were always able songs by adding them to a playlist first. This simply makes the process simpler.

Our inaugural Monthly Home Screen Challenge for the month of October was a great success. So much so that we decided to keep the challenge going, and we got some awesome submissions for November. As always, it was tricky picking a winner, and after much deliberation we finally settled on Hotmann, who came up with an interesting take on the periodic table.

Just like last month's challenge, we have taken the winning submission and broken it down into its basic components for your reading/designing pleasure. Enjoy!

Hotmann's entry can be difficult to comprehend at first, but on closer inspection it is clearly one of the most creative uses of an Android home screen that I have ever seen.

That's why we've chosen two winners this month - Xal and Austin C, who each showed us their own twist on a visually stimulating, yet practical home screen layout. Our winners will be contacted shortly to claim their AP shirts.

As promised, we've prepared a full overview of each of our winning home screens, highlighting each of their elements so that you too can create a home screen design that is both beautiful and functional.

T-Mobile Launching Even More Plus Unlimited Plan For Just $59.99 A Month

T-Mobile is starting to get aggressive with customer acquisition and retention, and in light of less than stellar fiscal performance and the news of the AT&T deal, it's not hard to see why.

On April 13, the carrier will begin offering a new off-contract smartphone plan, and it's a steal - for $59.99 a month (down from $79.99), you'll get unlimited talk, text and data*. But, there are some significant catches. The first is that you'll have to pay full retail for your phone of choice - the Even More Plus plan is a month-to-month affair.

The second is arguably worse - your data usage is technically unlimited, but after the first 2GB (as opposed to the current 5GB) your data speeds will be throttled down until the next billing cycle.

Sprint CEO Confirms 4G On Your Phone Will Not Cost Extra

Yesterday we reported that Sprint will not charge extra for using 4G on your phone, based on the response from a Sprint customer service rep. Some people pointed out that customer service reps are oftentimes wrong, and while we certainly agree with that statement, the CSR was quite confident in her response. Additionally, a good portion of the news market nowadays is comprised of rumors.

Thankfully, we didn't have to wait too long for the "rumor" to be confirmed.

Today was the 2nd day of the CTIA Wireless 2010 conference, and Sprint CEO Dan Hesse was the keynote speaker. In his speech, which was so graciously live blogged by BGR and Engadget, he said the following:
