Hexlock App Locker Locks Only The Apps You Choose, Comes Complete With Profiles And Automatic Switching [Sponsored Post]

Let's be real here - some people just don't like using security on their phones. Having to put in a PIN code or pattern every single time you just want to check a notification can be quite annoying. We get that. And apparently so does Liquidum, the developers of Hexlock - App Lock Security.

The idea behind Hexlock isn't a new one: it's an app that allows the user to lock specific apps behind either a PIN or pattern screen.

Prey Anti-Theft Now Lets Pro Users Remotely Wipe Their Stolen Android Devices

Prey Anti-Theft is far from a newcomer to the mobile security scene, and the service offers a few advantages over competing offerings, as it can track and monitor laptops in addition to mobile devices. But it's definitely late to the game when it comes to its latest feature - the option to finally wipe stolen Android devices remotely.

Prey1

Prey can now remotely erase both your device's internal storage and its SD card.

Avast Gives Free One-Year Premium Licenses (Worth $15) To Users Who Paid For Theft Aware Before Avast Acquired It

Theft Aware was possibly the most ingenious Android security solution back before it was bought out by Avast. At the time, developer ITAgents promised paying customers that they would be remembered once Avast rolled out a premium version of their mobile security suite. Now that time has come. Avast is giving away free one-year licenses to anyone who previously purchased Theft Aware, a savings of $15.

Avast recently updated its mobile security suite, bringing in a new premium subscription containing features such as app locking, ad detecting, password checking, remote identification, app settings backup for rooted phones, and more.

Thanks to its amazing anti-theft features – which are powered by what used to be Theft Aware – avast! has long been one of our favorite mobile security apps. That's not to say its malware prevention abilities aren't also a highlight of the application, because they are – in fact, it's an all around good package. And thanks to a new update that hit the Play Store just a bit ago, it's just got better.

In an e-mail to its customers today, the team at TekTrak (an app we reviewed back in August) officially announced that the service has shut down and that users will no longer be able to utilize its features. [Review] Security For The Minimalist: Bitdefender Mobile Security Takes Simple and Lightweight To Heart, Albeit At A Price

I'll admit it, I'm anal about CPU and RAM usage. I'm the kind of person that goes into MSConfig every 6 months to scrape useless startup processes like barnacles off the hull of a ship to keep boot times down and squeeze every last possible increment of free RAM and CPU that I can (insert "Then you should use Linux" joke here) out of my system. If you're like me, then you probably avoid heavy, suite-ized security solutions like the bubonic plague crossed with bird flu.

[Review] Avast! Mobile Security For Android

After getting a glimpse of Avast's new mobile security solution a few weeks ago, I just had to dive in and give the app a full review. Avast, the long-awaited marriage of Avast and IT Agents' Theft Aware (see our review), certainly doesn't disappoint. It has an insane number of features, all of which appear to work perfectly, and it sounds like things will only be improving with time.

And did I mention the full-featured, root-enhanced app is completely free with no paid version in sight?
