Green Dot Announces 'GoBank', An Online-Only, Smartphone-Centric Take On The Traditional Banking System

Did you know it's national "new mobile banking day?" Because I surely didn't. First, Simple brought its online-only banking setup to Android, and now Green Dot has announced its own bank, which was designed from the ground up specifically for smartphones. Intriguing, no?

GoBank is pretty similar to Simple in a few new ways: it's online only, designed for mobile use, and turns the traditional banking system on its head. From there, though, GoBank branches off and does its own thing. For example, you can choose how much your monthly fees are – from nothing at all to $9 a month.

Capital One Releases Android App For Mobile Banking

Capital One Services has finally joined the ranks of large financial institutions offering native Android mobile banking apps with the introduction of the official app.

Capital One account holders can now check their balances, pay bills, transfer funds between accounts, view recent transactions and rewards, and, of course, find the nearest branches and ATMs.

The app works on Android phones running Donut (1.6) and up, but cannot yet be installed on Honeycomb tablets (support for them is coming later). Grab it for free by using the links below:
