[New App] T-Mobile Releases Official Bobsled Calling App For Tablets – Call, Chat, And Connect With Friends On The Big(ger) Screen

Bobsled users can now connect with friends from their Android-powered tablets, thanks to Vivox and T-Mobile. For the uninitiate, Bobsled is a service developed by T-Mobile (in collaboration with Vivox) which aims to let users connect to their friends via internet calling or messaging for free.

Bobsled's app allows users to log into Facebook and connect with anyone from their friends list at the touch of a button, allowing for chat, voice messaging, and calls to land lines or mobile phones in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico. Currently land line/mobile calls are limited to 75 minutes per call, but the service itself is certainly handy, especially considering Bobsled-to-Bobsled calls feature high-definition audio.

Powow: Text Messaging is an alternative messaging app made by Handmark, the company that produced One Louder Apps. Now, I know that you're thinking about all of the other messaging apps on the Market and want to know what makes this one special. The fact of the matter is that only a small percentage of the endless waves of similar apps are worth using, and despite missing a couple key features, Powow is one of few I would consider fully committing to.

GO SMS - New Messaging App Hits Market, Brings Attractive UI And Extra Features

It's no secret that Android's stock messaging app is lackluster, both in terms of appearance and functionality. Major players like Handcent and ChompSMS have stepped up to the plate and do a fine job of addressing both of these shortcomings, but they're not without their own issues. Enter GO SMS, a new alternative that's already attracting a surprising amount of attention.

Despite having been on the Market for no more than a week, GO has already made it to the 10,000-50,000 download range, and with 384 ratings and a 4.09 star average, it seems to be doing quite well. The developers are keeping a close eye on user reviews, and have even created a thread on the XDA-Developers forums to get more input. Thus far, the comments seem to be considerably positive, with most users commenting on how much snappier the app is than Handcent.
