The latest version of the Play Store is no longer 3.7.11 - say hello to v3.7.13. I haven't found anything different from 3.7.11 just yet - it likely only contains bug fixes. There's no reason to lag behind, however, so if you're running a Play Store with a version lower than 3.7.13, jump right to the download mirrors below. Before you do that, let me point out a few things.

Upon playing with the Store further, I did discover a new feature compared to v3.5.19 that I didn't mention last time - inline app links in search suggestions. Take a look at searching in 3.5.19 (on the left) and 3.7.13 (on the right) - direct app links are now mixed in with suggested spellings.

Earlier today, Google announced a slew of new content for the Play Store, including magazines, TV shows, and the ability to purchase movies. New content is great, but there's a problem: the new Play Store isn't yet available on devices other than the Nexus 7 and I/O Galaxy Nexus (post-Jelly Bean update).

As always, though, those crafty devils over at XDA have yanked the newest version of the Play Store from one of the aforementioned devices and made it available to the world. Simply download and install it like any normal apk to start enjoying all the hyper-fresh content you can eat.

This is the latest in our Weekend Poll series. For last week's, see Which Would You Buy Today, The Samsung Galaxy S III Or The HTC One X?

Google launched the Play Store in March in an attempt to consolidate the Books, Movies, Music, and Apps under one umbrella. Obviously the Apps section sees a ton of action, but we're not so sure that the other three have really found any traction. So we're taking the question to you, although our readers admittedly aren't the most unbiased of audiences to ask about this.

Do you use Google Play Music to purchase tracks or albums on any sort of regular basis?

So far, Amazon's Appstore, which competes with Google's own Play Store on Android apps, has been stuck within U.S. borders. A report from All Things D, however, says that may be about to change soon. The online retail company, the site says, is preparing to launch in Europe. No details on when beyond "later this summer" were available.

All Things D speculates that this might herald the arrival of the Kindle Fire, however it also rightly points out that launching a device in a new country is more complicated than launching a software storefront. We're a little skeptical that an international launch of the Appstore will mean the Kindle Fire is heading to our friends across the pond.

The Google Play Store's "Bouncer," which Google launched back in February to protect Android users from malicious apps, is a service that scans potential Play Store apps by running them in a virtual phone environment, where the app's activities are monitored for any signs of mal-intent.

Taking advantage of that test period, security researchers Charlie Miller and Jon Oberheide have evidently found ways past Bouncer (which they will be presenting at the Summercon conference in New York this week). Their method, in short, allows an app to "know" that it is being run in a virtual environment, meaning malicious apps could conceivably resist carrying out malicious activities until they are running on a real system.

Total Commander, which only graduated to the "final" status yesterday, made it all the way to the Play Store today, along with all three of its plugins: FTP, LAN, and WebDAV. This event concluded the saga that started back in July of last year when the very first preview release was unveiled by Christian Ghisler, the author of the wildly popular application for Windows.

The fate of Total Commander's Play Store listing has been up in the air until only recently, when Christian confirmed he indeed/ decided to go through with it and deal with potential support issues. At the time of the original release, available only via sideloading, Christian stated to us that TC was unlikely to ever show up in the Market.
