[Preview] Beautiful Jelly Defense From Infinite Dreams Coming To Android September 29th

Infinite Dreams, the creators of such hits as Sky Force and Shoot The Birds, are famous for high quality and absolutely stunning graphics in their games. Their upcoming title, Jelly Defense, is no exception. Today, we have a sneak peak at the first official trailer of this newcomer to the Tower Defense genre with a few new twists (or should I say "twisters"?).

Google Goggles For Android Updated To 1.6, Wants You To Snap More Pictures

Google's neat-o Goggles app has just been updated to 1.6, and brings intelligent photo recognition to the table. What exactly does that mean? Well, I can't put it much better than the official announcement:

Let’s say that I’m going on vacation, and I decide to use my Android-powered phone as my primary camera. Goggles would identify landmarks, paintings and other interesting objects in my photos. I can share these facts about my vacation with my friends right from my Goggles search history.

In other words, Goggles is running in the background. You snap a picture, and Goggles recognizes it. The app will notify you that it recognizes the content of the picture, and attach that info to the picture in the Goggles app.

The Guardian is one of the most popular daily newspapers printed in Britain and its web portal, Guardian.co.uk, is also a leading online newspaper, containing nearly all the articles of its parent as well as significant original content. Unlike other web portals of printed publications such as the New York Times and the Economist, all the articles on Guardian.co.uk are freely accessible. To continue ensuring it remains the leading publication in all formats, Guardian has launched an Android app delivering all the latest content from Guardian.co.uk to Android phones and tablets.

The app is very similar to the Economist and New York Times Android apps, with plenty of content culled from various sources as well as images, videos and audio extracts.

The Market update in this post is meant for phones only - there is no known update to the Honeycomb tablet Market at the moment.

Wow, Google is on a roll with the Android Market lately. Since the release of Market v3.0, a number of small updates have come to the Android Market recently, but this is by far the biggest yet. Google has added the long-awaited +1 functionality to the Android Market (which has been on the web version of the Market for quite some time), along with a few other goodies.

Editorial: Why Removing The Market's "Just In" Section Is Good For Everyone - Except App Spammers

If you've received the new version of the Android Market on your phone, you might have noticed among the legion of additions to the app a very noticeable subtraction: the "Just In" section. Some people don't like this.

In fact, there is a growing thread over at Google Support with a number of complaints about this change. Of course, the complaints are pretty exclusively from developers. Now, some of these complaints are made from a legitimate perspective - new developers who want exposure. Of course, the problem is that these developers can't actually determine what percentage of their app's "clicks" come from the "Just In" section - there seems to be a tacit assumption that it's a large number, without any evidence to back up this claim.
