When I was a kid, my dad used to tinker with model cars. As I got a bit older, he started buying them for me, as well; first, the simple snap-together kits, eventually moving up to ones that required glue, and then on to completely blank canvas vehicles that needed paint, glue, and everything in between. Those took some time, but there was a real sense of accomplishment when it was all finished (assuming everything went smoothly).
Madfinger's Dead Trigger was undoubtedly one of last year's premier mobile games. It brought forth elements that were previously only seen on consoles: quality graphics, a decent storyline, and gameplay that involved more than throwing birds at a some repurposed Jenga blocks. It was (and still is), a gamer's game.
Like with all popular games, we all expected a sequel. Something more immersive, with better gameplay, more features, a deeper storyline, and the like.
Zombies are still cool, right? Even if they're not, Dead Trigger 2 could potentially tip the scales of trendiness in favor of the undead. The zombie shoot 'em up has been teased a few times, but now we've got a date. Madfinger Games will release Dead Trigger 2 on October 23 – just in time for Halloween.
The game will be optimized for Tegra 4 devices like the Shield and just announced Tegra Note devices, but any modern Android device should be able to get in on the fun.
If you're a DeadZone player, there are now more ways and places to play than ever before: as of today, the game is also available on Facebook and PC. Mac owners, fret not – it's coming soon to your platform as well. This means you can now get your DZ fix regardless of where you are – all games are cross-platform, and you can log in with your existing credentials.

Dead Trigger 2 is nearing completion and the developers have decided to release a few new details and drop some impressive gameplay footage on us. We've been waiting with bated breath for the arrival of Madfinger's online multiplayer title Shadowgun: DeadZone for months now, and the wait is finally over. For some of us anyway.
An open beta of the game just landed in the Play Store, but for the time being, it's only available for players using Tegra 3-powered devices while the gameplay and network code are perfected. The Store listing states it's available only in the Czech Republic, but a few of us from the AP team were able to install it and got in just fine.
The newest update to the post-apocalyptic zombie-infested first person shooter Dead Trigger landed in the Play Store early this morning, bringing with it a slew of new content, including the "reward" that Madfinger teased in the previous update.

Dead Trigger has been the cause of much controversy lately. Not because of violence or zombie action though; because it was initially a paid app ($0.99) and was made free three weeks after its release. This, of course, enraged many of the users who paid for the game, as they felt cheated.
Despite its attempts to help users understand the reasoning behind the decision to make the game free, Madfinger has been under constant attack from players who wanted to something to compensate the [measly] dollar that they spent on the game in its initial weeks on the market.
Madfinger Games has taken to its Facebook page to make an official statement regarding the decision last Friday to remove the $0.99 price tag from Dead Trigger. The decision, which has angered many users who had only recently paid for the game, can be summed up in one word: piracy.
If there's one thing that sets people off upon purchasing or downloading an app (games in particular), it's opening it up and finding it has in-app purchases.
And this is, generally, a good instinct for consumers to have - hundreds, if not thousands of mobile games blatantly take advantage of people's willingness to nickel-and-dime themselves out of money they would have never otherwise spent buying a game in the first place.
