DxOMark Reviews The HTC One M9, Ranks It The 22nd Best Mobile Camera On The Market, 21 Places Behind The Galaxy S6

DxOMark just released their review of the HTC One M9's camera. I'm not going to beat around the bush, the results aren't great (not that any of us here at AP are all that surprised). The HTC One M9 scored a rather abysmal cumulative score of 69, placing the Taiwanese manufacturer's latest flagship in 22nd place on DxOMark's top mobile camera list.

That places the M9 21 spots behind the Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, which currently sits in the number one spot.

[International Giveaway] Win An HTC M9, Samsung Galaxy S6, Or Galaxy S6 Edge With Skins From Android Police And dbrand

When it comes to device skins, dbrand is my go-to company. After going hands-on with some of the company's Nexus 6 offerings back in February, I was extremely impressed with the quality - both materials and precision cutouts. I highly recommend checking them out if you're interested in giving your gadgets a new look. (And if you missed out on the Nexus "X" symbol promotion, well, I'm sorry.)

This contest is now over.

Sunshine 3.1 Adds S-OFF Support For HTC One M9 And Automatic SIM Unlock For Most Of HTC's GSM Phones

New smartphones are rolling off the line pretty regularly, and that means the tools we use to work with them have to update, too. Last month, Sunshine v3.0 emerged with support for an extensive collection of HTC and Motorola handsets, and now an update to v3.1 is about to build on that list. With the latest release, Justin Case and Beaups have added support for almost every variant of the HTC One M9, except Verizon's.

Remember when famous tipster @evleaks posted these supposed renders of the M9?

MEIZU Releases Public Android 4.0.3 Beta ROMs For MX/M9

MEIZU may have gotten its start as a maker of crappy knock-off electronics, but lately, the company has been making an impressive push into the mainstream. Take a look at the specs of the flagship MEIZU MX and you can see what I mean: 4" qHD screen, 8MP rear shooter, 1.4GHz dual-core CPU, and all the other usual goodies.  The smaller (and 15 month old) M9 packs a punch too, with a 3.5" qHD screen, and 1GHZ CPU - also damn respectable for its time.

Luckily for owners of both devices, the company has released a public Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) ROM that's available for download - something many who own phones from larger, more established companies can't say.
