T-Mobile HTC One M7 Expected To Receive Android 4.4.3 OTA Update With Wi-Fi Calling Enhancements Tomorrow

T-Mobile's HTC One M7 is set to receive an over-the-air update tomorrow, September 10th, that will deliver Android 4.4.3 along with Wi-Fi calling enhancements. HTC's Mo Versi, the company's Vice President of Product Management, took to Twitter this weekend to deliver the news in his usual fashion.

T-Mobile has long supported Wi-Fi calling, a feature that lets users circumvent a poor mobile connection by tapping into their home network instead. It's functionality that another carrier only started to implement just this year.

Unlocked And Developer Edition HTC One (M7) Getting OTA Update With Sense 6 Today

HTC's software versioning is a little more complicated than it is with other Android OEMs. You might have Android 4.4.2, but be lacking many of the features found on a newer device because you have an older version of Sense. HTC can, and does, update these independently. Such is the case with last year's HTC One – some versions of the M7 are getting Sense 6 today to go with their KitKat ROMs.

Rumor Analysis: This Might Be The HTC "One" (M7), Or At Least A Pretty Good Approximation

As we draw ever-closer to HTC's February 19th press event(s), leaks around the HTC M7 - aka the HTC "One" - have been steadily increasing. The latest comes to us yet again courtesy of @evleaks, and here it is.

htc-one

Let's start with what's right about it. First, it matches up with a previous leak, albeit one that was also from evleaks. Second, there's a lot of visual polish going on around the hardware that wasn't present in that first image. Shadows, reflections, and various shiny edges make this image seem significantly more official. The on-screen portion of the image conforms with what we've previously seen HTC do with new phones - 10:08AM, on the day of the announcement, in the city of the announcement.

The New HTC M7 Might Simply Be Called 'HTC One', Which Sounds Great

The rumors continue to fly about the HTC M7, which we expect will be announced before too long. The latest tidbit comes from the usually-reliable @evleaks. According to the ever-mysterious entity, the company's newest flagship will simply be called 'HTC One.' Nice and clean, just the way we like it.

This would diverge from HTC's previous naming scheme of having its most "high-end" phones bear the One moniker. Though, since the One V was actually a pretty mid-range phone (very nice for mid-range, but mid-range nonetheless), it wouldn't be a surprise if the company would like to get its brand back under control.

[Exclusive] This May Actually Be The HTC M7 With Sense 5.0

You know what we like here at Android Police? Solid information. Earlier today, we reported on an alleged render of the HTC M7 that looked a little 'close-but-not-quite'. For starters, that image is not exactly the M7. But a helpful tipster decided to help us clarify some things today, by providing real images of something that more than likely is the M7.

We've been seeing a flurry of photos recently and this to be the most legitimate one yet. This is also obviously a photograph of a real piece of hardware, not a render. This photo corroborates a lot of the information that PocketNow's tipster reported that we mentioned in our last article - notably, that the home and multitasking buttons have been swapped.

There Is A Significant Chance This Is Not A Real Render Of The HTC M7

Ah, after CES we were beginning to wonder when we'd get our next flurry of conflicting rumors. Today's comes in the form of what is being called an official render of the HTC M7. Trouble is, it's not. For starters, PocketNow claims that they're not made by anyone within the company, however according to someone who 'has access' to a photo of the handset, the front looks about right. Allow me to reiterate that point: the claim here is someone has allegedly seen an alleged photo that allegedly looks similar to this image, but only the front half:

HTC-M7PL

Of course, this render has some issues just on the face of it as well.
