Sprint's 4G LTE network continues to trudge along, slowly growing both larger and faster at the same time. Now the carrier has upgraded the data speeds available in 20 new markets across the country. Consumers benefiting from this news range from California and Arizona in the west across the US to Connecticut and New Jersey in the east. Down south, Sprint's boosting things for residents and visitors of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Sprint Introduces 40 New Markets To Its 4G LTE Network, Bringing The Total Number Up To 340

Sprint Spark support is gradually rolling out to some of the carrier's devices, but there is something to be said for learning how to walk before learning how to run. Large swaths of the US still do not have access to Sprint's LTE network at any speed. Consider the state of Ohio, which until now has only had one city (Salem) on the complete list of supported areas, and that location only joined just last month.

AT&T Expands 4G LTE Availability To New Markets In Nearly A Dozen States, Along With Puerto Rico

Earlier this month, AT&T passed the 500 mark in the race to expand the number of areas across the country with access to the carrier's 4G LTE network. The effort is ongoing, though, and the company has now officially added several more locales to the list. Customers in areas ranging from the West Coast to the Atlantic Ocean should all now notice faster data speeds when browsing on the go.

AT&T Announces The Addition Of 26 New 4G LTE Markets, Nudges Total Number Over The 500 Mark

It's that time of year when consumers are shown a near overwhelming array of new electronics, and many of them will undoubtedly need to connect to a cellular network in order for the real fun to happen. So AT&T has announced 24 new areas around the continental US that should now have access to 4G LTE speeds, along with two more in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Sprint's network unfortunately sticks customers with the worst combination of variables, giving them both slower speeds than competitors while having less coverage. This situation is slowly changing, with the company rolling out faster spectrum to markets across the country that typically don't get first priority. The latest rollout brings 4G LTE to pockets scattered all throughout the country, including Lexington, Kentucky; Pensacola, Florida; and Farmington, Missouri - the perfect name for the type of locations where Sprint likes to introduce LTE.

AT&T Rolls Out 4G LTE Availability To Eight New Markets, Expands Five Others Across The Country

AT&T is rapidly expanding its 4G LTE availability, pumping billions into the effort as it seeks to upgrade most of its network. Now the cellular provider has introduced zippier speeds to the the eight new markets listed below, along with five additional expansions. The new markets are concentrated predominantly in Alabama, California, and a couple states in the Northeast.

New Markets:

  • Greenville, AL
  • Troy, AL
  • Madera-Chowchilla, CA
  • Merced, CA
  • Vallejo-Vacaville, CA
  • New London County, CT
  • Sussex County, DE
  • Columbia, MO

The five new expansions are spread all across the country, including locations on the both coasts and one state in between.

Verizon Announces Several More LTE Markets For December 20th

After a couple years of working on its LTE Network, we've come to expect these monthly market activations from VZW. The lists started off small - consisting of mostly big cities - but as the towns get smaller, the lists get longer. Earlier this month, Big Red announced that it would be bringing LTE to a slew of new markets on December 20th:

  • Sequim, WA
  • Kennewick, WA
  • Pasco, WA
  • Richland, WA
  • Klamath Falls, OR
  • Roseburg, OR
  • Jackson Hole, WY

  • Price, UT
  • Richfield, UT
  • Lamar, CO
  • LaJunta, CO

Today, however, it has expanded that list by several more areas:

  • Marshalltown, IA
  • Saddlebrooke, AZ
  • Ruidoso, NM
  • Flagstaff, Prescott, And Sedona, AZ
  • Casa Grande, AZ
  • Farmington and Gallup, NM
  • Payson, AZ
  • Mason City and Charles City, IA

December 20th is the big day for all those cities, as well - looks like you're only three days away from saying goodbye to VZW's [less than spectacular] 3G network for good.
