Welcome to the weekly roundup of the best new Android applications, games, and live wallpapers that went live in the Market or were spotted by us in the previous week or so.

Last week, due to Google I/O, I did not have proper time to put into making the roundup, so this week contains apps from the last 2 weeks. This is the first part of the roundup with games and live wallpapers. The second part with apps will go live later on (probably tomorrow).

Welcome to the weekly roundup of the best new Android applications, games, and live wallpapers that went live in the Market or were spotted by us in the previous week or so.

Last week, I went for a nice vacation in the Caribbean and because of that, there was no Best Apps issue at all. Instead, I've rolled 2 weeks' worth of stuff into this week aaaaaaand because it's turned out so long, I am splitting it up into multiple posts (apps are coming soon after this, most likely tomorrow).

Additionally, most people preferred the old roundup format instead of the abridged new one I tried in the last roundup, so I'm bringing it back.

Welcome to the weekly roundup of the best new Android applications, games, and live wallpapers that went live in the Market or were spotted by us in the previous week or so.

This week, I am trying something a little different due to complaints about the heavy weight of these roundups. There are now no usual app widgets, Appbrain widgets, barcodes, or embedded videos. There are also fewer screenshots - instead, I'm picking out only the most interesting ones.

Because there are no Appbrain widgets, I decided to include the current price for paid apps next to the Market link. Video links, when available, go to the same area.

I have seen a lot of live wallpapers and, truth be told, I'm generally not that impressed most of the time. Every once in a while, though, one comes along that is just so nice that I want to share it with everyone. This is one of those times.

Photile Live Wallpaper creates a LWP from any existing image. It adds a level of complexity to the images, while not overdoing it (a difficult task, I might add). It's elegant, smooth and beautiful. I could attempt to explain what it does exactly, but instead I will just share this video:

See what I mean?

Welcome to the weekly roundup of the best new Android applications, games, and live wallpapers that went live in the Market or were spotted by us in the previous week 2 weeks or so. Due to CTIA last week, we decided to postpone last week's roundup and roll all the apps into one big 2-week post.

Get ready - the list is quite massive and may freeze up your browser while loading - I suggest you open up links in new tabs to avoid page reloads.

Please wait for this page to load in full in order to see the AppBrain widgets, which include ratings and pricing info.

If there is one thing I love, it’s a nice, relaxing wallpaper. I do not want to see chaos when I look at my homescreen (or computer screen for that matter), and the Go Wallpaper Dev Team has delivered a solution that is both elegant and beautiful by way of three new live wallpapers – Sakura Falling, 3D Skyrocket, and Hyperspace. Because they use OpenGL, these are some of the smoothest, most realistic live wallpapers that I have ever seen.

Sakura Falling Live Wallpaper

By far the most relaxing of the three, the Sakura Falling live wallpaper features light pink flowers falling across a dark fuschia background.
