Are You A System Info Junkie? Get It All On Your Homescreen With 'Device Info Live Wallpaper'

Back in the day, I used to use Samurize or RainMeter on my Windows machines to output the current system info on the desktop. That way, if something started acting funky, I would have an idea of where to start looking – if RAM was starting to get full, closing a couple of larger programs would usually fix the issue. If the CPU was peaking, then I could easily fire up the Task Manager and kill the culprit, proving that violence sometimes is the answer.

[New App] Tiny Phone People Live Wallpaper Lets You Live Out Your 'Rear Window' Fantasies

It's not often that we see a live wallpaper that's interesting enough to feature all on its own, but Tiny Phone People fits the bill. This elaborate wallpaper makes your phone a window into the tiny life of one diminutive denizen, as he or she makes their way around the house. The wallpaper gives you a cutaway view of their living place, not unlike a modified version of The Sims... or a certain Hitchcock classic.

NVIDIA Metals Up Your Homescreen With The Official Hawken Live Wallpaper

If you've got a decent gaming PC and you haven't tried Hawken, you really should give it a try. The free-to-play online shooter captures the atmosphere of a gigantic, hulking death machine in a way that doesn't have an equal, and the first-person perspective and customizable mechs make ita nice tribute to the old Mech Warrior series. And if you've already tried it and liked it, NVIDIA has a promotional live wallpaper that's right up your rusted, diesel-splattered alley.

[Deal Alert] All Of DualBoot Games' Beautiful (And Highly Customizable) Live Wallpapers Are 50% Off

While I've never been much of a live wallpaper guy myself, there's little denying that DualBoot Games (I'm guessing the name is a holdover) makes some of the best and prettiest ones out there. At least, that seems to be the general consensus, judging by the number of downloads their seven wallpaper designs have managed to achieve.

Disney Releases Nemo's Reef, It's A Small World Live Wallpaper, And Where's My Holiday? All In One Go

Leave it to Disney to go all out like this. In a very rapid release of new apps, everyone's favorite kid-friendly distributor of films, TV shows, games and anything else that can empty parents' wallets has dropped on us three new titles. For starters, Nemo's Reef. This let's-call-it-a-game expands on the Finding Nemo franchise (naturally), and allows players to create their own underwater reef. You can customize the fish's home, add various characters from the movies including Gill, Dory, Bloat and Bubbles, and even plant a variety of seeds.

New Live Wallpaper From Opotech Creates A Gyroscope Controlled 3D Background From Any Image

I'll be the first to admit that I find most live wallpapers pretty pointless. It's not that I don't appreciate the time and effort that goes into making them - it's just that I like to keep things clean, and all the background movement just seems so impractical. However, every once in a while a LWP shows up that makes me second guess my stock wallpaper. This is one of those times.

[New App] GyroSpace 3D Live Wallpaper Is Like Stereoscopic 3D Without The Headache

Usually we'd save a cool live wallpaper for our next roundup, but this one's just so groovy we had to let our readers know about it now. GyroSpace 3D is a live wallpaper that, like many others, uses your device's gyroscope for visual effects. But the space-scapes shown off in GyroSpace move around on a three-dimensional plane, coming in and out of the user's filed of view with remarkable smoothness. It's a neat effect that's not unlike a stereoscopic 3D screen, without the added hardware.
