Sprint's Samsung SPH-L300 Image And Supposed Specs Leak - It's Not The Galaxy S III, But Has ICS

It's nothing new for images or specs of a device to leak prior to its announcement, but this time it does dash the hopes of some Android fans to bits. The Samsung SPH-L300 for Sprint was first leaked in a user profile that lacked any real information. It was put forth that this could be the Sprint version of the Samsung Galaxy S III already in testing, but if this new leak is to be believed, this is a completely different and thoroughly mid-range device.

Keeping in mind that none of this is confirmed, the SPH-L300 has NFC, an unusual wrap-around metal (or fake metal) bezel design, and it's about 12mm thick.

Barnes And Noble Equipping New Nook Simple Touch With Front-Lit E-ink Screen

Anyone that has ever spent any length of time with an e-ink based e-reader like the Kindle or Nook can attest to their uselessness in dark spaces. Now it looks like Barnes and Noble is going to be taking a crack at fixing that shortcoming of e-readers in an effort to gain some traction in its battle against Amazon. Leaked signage points to an updated Nook Simple Touch with a front-lit screen, and it might be here sooner than you think.

Barnes and Noble will apparently be calling the technology GlowLight, and if you don't like the name, tough. The retailer is going to be pushing it as a major feature of its Android-based e-reader.

More Motorola Spyder And XOOM 2 Images Surface, Suggesting Both Devices Are Near Completion

A couple of new images of both the internally-named Motorola Spyder, rumored to be the device Moto and Big Red have planned to announce as the Droid RAZR on October 18th, as well as the 8.2-inch variant of the XOOM 2 have surfaced. While we've already seen rough prototype shots of both XOOM 2 variants once before, this new leak shows a much more polished look on the little brother, suggesting that it's near completion and most of the kinks have been worked out.

The Spyder is now donning Verizon logos on the front and back, as well as a 4G LTE logo.

Motorola XOOM 2 Pictures Leak Out: Angled Corners, "HD" Camera, And... The Same Weight As The Original XOOM?

The Motorola XOOM was a truly unique device: it marked the beginning of the Android tablet era, stole a portion (admittedly a very small one) of the iPad 2's pre-announcement hype, and... weighed about as much as a tank driven by Chris Christie.

Well now its successor, the XOOM 2, has begun to hit the rumor mill - just a few minutes ago, Droid Life leaked two pictures of the slate:

We don't have a ton of information on the device as of yet, but DL's "sources" say that its weight is similar to that of the XOOM (!), and it has "big physical flush" buttons on its back, HDMI and microUSB ports on its bottom, and a SIM card slot.

Sony S1 And S2's New Custom UI Exposed In Leaked Screenshots

The Sony S1 and S2 tablets haven't exactly been the best kept secret in Sony's playbook, but we still haven't managed to catch a glimpse of that "heavily modified" version of Honeycomb, either -- until now. Thanks to some screenshots grabbed by CarryPad, we now have a better idea of what this duo of tablets will bring to the table. So lets have a look, shall we?

A quick look at the homescreen and settings menu. As you can see, the pair are already running Android 3.2, so they'll be up-to-date on launch day. The main Honeycomb launcher looks slightly modified, with quick access to favorites, and some possibly network connections via the WiFi icon up top.

[Unconfirmed] New Details Leak Out About The HTC Vigor, Thanks To NenaMark

We finally have a bit more info about the mysterious HTC Vigor - a device that we previously only knew about thanks to a leaked image taken by its 6MP camera. Now, though, this device is coming into the light a bit more, thanks to A NenaMark benchmark ran by an "anonymous" submitter. We now have a better idea of what this handset may be packing under the hood, and it sounds quite pleasing:

1280x720 display (!)
Qualcomm Adreno GPU
1.5GHz processor (it's not clear whether it's dual-core or not, but we're hoping that it is)
Android 2.3.4
It appears to be running on Verizon's network

While this handset may sound pretty great, make a mental note that these types of benchmarks are fairly easy to spoof, so take it all with a grain of salt until we get more proof it its reality.

LG's Roadmap For The Remainder Of 2011 Leaks, Includes Several New Android Devices

According to a leaked roadmap that PocketNow recently got a hold of, it looks like LG may have some pretty big things (okay - maybe just one) in store for the remainder of 2011. Everything from low-end to groundbreaking, LG is looking to run the gamut in the Android smartphone game.

Let's have a look, shall we?

LG Prada K2

The Prada K2 is a super-sleek and thin high-end device rocking some pretty powerful hardware under the hood:

LG Univa

This Univa appears to be a middle-of-the-road device, as well as somewhat of a sequel to the Optimus One:

[Download] Exclusive: Official HTC Droid Incredible 2 Gingerbread RUU 2.18.605.4 (Same As The Official Gingerbread OTA)

While the official Gingerbread OTA for the Incredible 2 started rolling out a couple of days ago, there are some users running a previously leaked version of 2.3 that are left out in the cold with no way of updating - until now, that is. Thanks to an anonymous tipster calling himself Pig Benis, we've gotten a hold of the official RUU from Verizon with the build number 2.18.605.4 (the same as the OTA) for your flashing pleasure.

This will get you up to date with the latest as of July 13th stock build from HTC, so if you're tinkering with your device and something goes horribly awry, you can use this to save the day.
