Some unofficial builds have been floating around for a while, but tonight, it looks like Nexus S 4G owners are about to get some allegedly official ICS update action. Over on the XDA forums, user mrxkills has uploaded all the files necessary to get your Sprint Google Experience device updated to 4.0.4.

You read that right: 4.0.4. Compared to 4.0.3, the build we've seen passed around for a while on other devices like the Xoom and the Galaxy Nexus. This is also build number IMM26, compared to IML74K. Unfortunately, we don't know what of all changed yet, outside of the ...

Remote controls have been around in one form or another since the middle of the 20th century, and little about them has changed in that time. They still comprise mainly of lots of buttons, most of which you have no idea how to use, and they're not exactly aesthetically pleasing to look at.

If Motorola has its way with this latest project, however, that may soon change. The Corvair, recently leaked on The Verge, is a 6-inch tablet device running Android 2.3, and according to the outer packaging of the product, it's a dedicated TV controller.

Looking to keep pace with Amazon, it seems Barnes & Noble has something up their sleeve this month - the Nook Tablet. Coming to market in just under two weeks, the Nook Tablet is a dead ringer for the Nook Color, but it brings to the table substantially pumped up specs that, in some ways, surpass its nearest competition - the Kindle Fire.

A nice set of photocopied documents leaked out today, giving us all the details we need about the Nook Tablet - it's set to launch November 16th at a cool $249. Yes, that is about $50 ...

The HTC Holiday is another device we've been watching for months, ever since its ROM leaked back in May. Earlier today, Engadget revealed photos of this powerful device spotted in the wild, so we can finally put a face to a name.

As evidenced by the screenshots above, the Holiday is packing some impressive specs. Here they are again:

  • 4.5 Inch qHD 960x540 display

  • 1GB RAM
  • 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 802.11 b/g/n WiFi

Remember that new version of Flash we reported on this morning? Yeah, well it's still scheduled to roll out on March 18th - one week from today - but thanks to BBCrackman from My Droid World, you can download a leaked copy of version 10.2 now.

wm_IMG_8732

Just as promised, it (finally) includes support for Honeycomb, meaning you can now watch South Park, Conan, or any other Flash video on your XOOM. Artem and I briefly played with it on our XOOMs, but unfortunately, we discovered that the experience wasn't without its flaws - video quality wasn't exactly top-notch, some ...

Good news, Tegra 2 users: you can now obtain a version of Adobe's famous (or perhaps infamous) Flash Player compatible with your devices. The leaked beta APK comes courtesy of XDA user rothnic, who received it "from the Malata Zpad owners."

As always, proceed with caution - and be sure to let us know how it works for you!

Well, well, well, what do we have here? The device Engadget found in LG's CES booth (see the thumbnail above and the video at the source link) could very well be the long-rumored Optimus Pad. The 8.9-inch device, which is said to be powered by a Tegra 2 dual-core processor, is something I have been lusting after for a while now.

While we can't be sure that the device in the thumbnail is the Optimus Pad, it sure looks a lot like the render below. Obviously, at this point, we have no way to confirm the exact specs, so ...

A pair of images circulated around the tech blogosphere this morning, showing what are purported to be the first glimpses of Motorola's now legendary Olympus, aka "Terminator", device. The Tegra 2 handset appears to take plenty of design cues from the newly-reviewed Defy, matching the rugged phone's rounded corners and flush capacitive buttons.

This is quite the departure from the unashamedly square design of Motorola's previous Droid iterations, but bears striking resemblance to a certain Nexus S. Both also share an uncanny likeness with the iPhone 4, but the less said about that the better.

It's been a long and difficult journey for Cliq owners, but it looks like the finish line may just be around the corner – Motorola is now allowing a limited number of users to test out the update to Android 2.1 Eclair.

Jealous? Don't be - thanks to the folks over at Android Central, the rest of us get to join in on the fun too. Unfortunately, the process isn't exactly as simple as an OTA, so here's how to do it:

  1. Download the update file (it should be called "Blur_Version.2.1.5.MB200.T-Mobile.en.US.zip") from here.

    Update: It was bound

Somewhere behind the Great Firewall of China, a group of devout HTC hackers are working hard at doing what they do best. Over at the now-famous 911sniper blog, another ROM belonging to an as of yet unannounced HTC device has just been posted ahead of time.

Sadly, the filehost they chose appears to be running their server through a 56k modem, so not much can be said right now as to the ROM's contents. However, you can be sure that once the file gets downloaded and torn apart, there will be plenty of goodies contained within, hopefully including confirmation of ...

Having one device leaked is so last fiscal year, man. Verizon is hip to the new trend of leaking out details of all of your devices and giving people a heads-up to not buy phones that are out right now since they're just gonna get replaced anyway.

Androids aren't the only things on show, but forgive us for omitting those not relevant to the droid-heads (check BerryPolice.com, great site).

Motorola's got the lion's share of the devices. Starting with the Venus, a portrait QWERTY phone to be released this month that Engadget thinks may be similar to the Charm. ...

Today, Jamezelle and I ripped apart the leaked system dump from the yet-to-be-released Verizon Samsung Fascinate and patched together six live wallpapers that are not present on other Galaxy S devices.

Like the previous Galaxy S live wallpapers, these must be flashed from a custom recovery, which also means you need to be rooted.

Download the zip below and flash it through your recovery menu like any other flashable zip. Depending on your device, the flashing process may take a minute, so just sit back, relax, and let your phone do its thing.

Do NOT try to unpack the

It seems to be the trend nowadays that you know everything about a device before it even gets properly announced, and while it makes for plenty of blog-fodder, it sort of spoils the fun of waiting for new things to come out.

Anyhoo, TmoNews just got their hands on the pricing scheme for the upcoming G2, HTC’s eagerly anticipated landscape slider. Calling the pricing “Exactly what everyone expects it to be”, TmoNews posted a photo of an internal T-Mobile document, showing the G2 to be $499.99 off-contract, or $199.99 with (presumably) a new two-year agreement and a $50 MIR.

As if having their handsets leaking out like crazy wasn’t enough, Motorola’s latest builds of Android 2.2 for the original DROID have slipped out on the MyDroidWorld forums.

Starting with a rooted version of FRG01B on the 20th of July, Chief of Staff p3droid has now dropped another build on the DROID community, FRG22. Claiming it to be Motorola’s latest, and the fastest DROID ROM yet, p3droid has already gone ahead and rooted it for those feeling adventurous enough to try something new.

The update.zip can be flashed as an upgrade over existing installs, but as usual be careful ...
