Newegg Exposes 3 Variants Of The Dual-Core 10.1" Toshiba Tablet, Starting At $450 - "Antares" Name Still A Possibility

The unnamed dual-core 10.1-inch Toshiba Android tablet that we got to play with at CES this year has oddly remained anonymous for an extraordinary amount of time - in fact, we still don't really know what its final name will be. An earlier rumor suggested it could be called "Antares," and today's freshly discovered Newegg pages curiously neither confirm nor deny that name, simply listing its 3 variants as ANT-100, ANT-102, and ANT-104. Could ANT be short for Antares? Sure. Could they both be just internal codenames? Just as well.

Besides the model numbers, Newegg let us in on the pricing structure for the 3 models:

the 8GB ANT-100 will go for $450
the 16GB ANT-102 for $500, and
the 32GB ANT-104 for $580

All tablet variants are equipped with Wi-Fi and aren't tied to a specific cellular provider, providing a few sweet spots for those who don't need the full 32GB of memory (I'm having trouble seeing the XOOM selling well after this at all at $600).

This morning, an HTC Sensation ROM featuring Sense 3.0 got leaked online, and while we're waiting for it to be ported to various devices, I thought it'd be a good idea to download it and see if it has any new wallpapers, ringtones, or notification sounds. While I was a bit disappointed on the audio front (both notifications and ringtones don't contain anything new), most of the wallpapers were indeed brand new, except maybe bokeh (I ran them through TinEye's reverse image search).

Download: Test Android Market Reveals New Versions Of Music, Gallery, Clock And Camera

This probably isn't going to be nearly as exciting as the title might lead you to believe - though it's good news nonetheless.

Techfrom10's Samsung Galaxy S was accidentally given access to the test Android Market via an OTA update, and they stumbled upon some goodies while using it. The Market itself has undergone no noticeable changes aside from the addition of the "Content Rating" information publishers are now asked to include as part of their submissions to the Market, so there's not a lot to see on that end.

However, they did find new versions of Music (much like the previously leaked APK, but presumably a newer version), Desk Clock, Camera, and Gallery.

HTC Representative: Gingerbread Hitting HTC ThunderBolt In Q2 2011

Here's some news that ought to make ThunderBolt owners smile: an HTC representative reportedly told a customer that Gingerbread will be made available for Verizon's new flagship phone in - wait for it - Q2.

According to Droid Life, John (or rudyt83) emailed HTC customer support after experiencing some issues with Bluetooth on his new ThunderBolt. HTC's (rather lengthy) response included this little nugget of information:

We are excited to announce that the Thunderbolt will receive the Gingerbread (Android 2.3) update in Q2 2011. Stay tuned for details as we get closer to the update availability.

The rep proceeded to list features added in Gingerbread, though the similarity to Google's own Android 2.3 changelog leads us to believe that the additions aren't specific to the ThunderBolt.

Netflix For Android APK Leaked; Probably Won't Stream Anything Yet

The APK for one of the most lusted-after Android apps, Netflix, leaked on to the Internet today. However, whether you can actually do anything with it is another question altogether (the answer to which is not entirely clear yet).

I was able to install the app on my EVO, and everything looked good up until the point where I actually wanted to watch a movie - and then... nothing. Most users have reported similar results, though at least one person claimed that it is fully functional, with a tweet "works on fascinate" (of course, anyone can say that on Twitter, so take it as you wish).

Official Gingerbread ROM Leaked For European And Asian Samsung Galaxy S i9000 Phones

The XDA forums are on fire this afternoon after a user posted a thread linking to a Polish Android forum, claiming to contain a download for an official Gingerbread build for the Samsung Galaxy S i9000. Before you get too excited, let me reiterate: this is not for US devices, and I would not recommend trying it on your Captivate/Vibrant/Fascinate/Epic.

That said, the handy development community will get their paws on this and have a field day, so you may be seeing unofficial Gingerbread ROMs for US phones (aside from CyanogenMod 7) start floating around on XDA in the next week or so.

Dell Roadmap Leak Reveals Four Tablets And Two Ice Cream-Running Phones

The cat's out of the bag on Dell's upcoming (all the way into early 2012) Android offerings thanks to leaked slides showing their phone and tablet roadmaps. Incidentally, the slides also reveal that the next version of Android (after Honeycomb) will be called "Ice Cream" instead of what we previously though, "Ice Cream Sandwich." It's interesting to know that devices are already being planned to run on this technically unannounced version of Android, but what will surprise you even more are the amazing specs.

These are the specs of Dell Hancock, expected to be released in Q3 of this year:

Android Ice Cream
Dual-core processor
4.0" qHD display
8 megapixel rear camera
1.3 megapixel front-facing camera
1080p video capture
Slide-out QWERTY keyboard

The Millennium, pegged for release in Q4, is similar:

There are pictures of each device, but don't expect to learn anything about Ice Cream from them - they appear to be running the same Dell Stage UI as the Streak and Streak 7, which is based on Froyo.

Motorola Droid X2 Leaked: Packing Tegra 2, Still With MOTOBLUR

Just as with the original Droid, Motorola is planning to follow up the Droid X with an even more powerful device, in this case a superphone on the same level as the Bionic. Although it looks virtually the same as its predecessor, there are a few noteworthy changes:

1 GHz dual core Tegra 2 processor
4.3" qHD (960 x 540) display
8 megapixel rear camera
Android 2.2 with new version of MOTOBLUR
1 GB RAM

Unfortunately, not everything has been upgraded: the bootloader is still locked, which makes the possibility of a more open Atrix/Droid Bionic a little less likely. The phone will also be lacking 4G LTE connectivity.

Last night, PocketNow landed their hands on some official spec sheet leaks from UK retailer Expansys, and the specs don't disappoint. Let's take a look:

All in all, some respectable specs from the Galaxy S 2 and DHD2, some run-of-the-mill specs for the Desire 2 (nearly identical CPU as the EVO), and some downright embarrassing kit on the Wildfire 2 (it won't even be able to run Flash).

Update: LG Confirms via Twitter. LG Optimus 3D Picture Leaked Ahead Of MWC Reveal

Update:LG has confirmed via its MWC Twitter account that the Optimus 3D will indeed be shown at the Mobile World Congress. They also confirmed the glasses-free 3D display, 3D video capability, and HDMI.

LG's "Into the New Dimension" event is scheduled for February 14, but Phandroid has gotten a hold of an image that is purported to be the LG Optimus 3D. Although a 3D display can't be confirmed by the picture, we can determine that this device is not the LG Optimus 2X or LG Optimus Black. Considering this phone is set to be revealed in two weeks, this certainly seems like a trustworthy tip, and the specs, while awesome, are still believable:
