Wi-Fi-only tablets are pretty popular and for good reason. No one wants to pay for a second data plan just for their slate, and the hardware is cheaper if you get it without 3G/4G radios anyway. Seems like a win. Until you get out of your house and curse your disconnected device and its inability to Google Jeff Goldblum's height at the drop of a hat. Enter FreedomPop.

The service may not be new, but it is novel: 500MB of free data per month.

If you've been waiting on more information about T-Mobile's up-and-coming LTE-powered Galaxy S III – like, you know, a potential release date – wait no more. TMoNews has gotten its hands on a leaked image of an internal T-Mobile slide that shows what could be a probable release time frame for the device:

1

As you can see, way down at the bottom, it clearly reads Samsung T999L Galaxy S III LTE, with a launch date of either March 27th or April 3rd.

Yesterday, we caught a glimpse of an alleged white Nexus 4. While we initially questioned its legitimacy, we ultimately walked away assuming that it was indeed the real deal. However, the question was: is this going to become a thing, or is it simply a prototype?

While today's leak can't really help us answer that question, it does give us a very good look at what the white Nexus 4 has to offer.

This is the time of year when we expect two things to surface in droves: leaks and rumors. With CES fading in our taillights and Mobile World Congress just around the corner, it's an interesting time for device manufacturers. And while some have already gotten their early-year announcements over with, there are those who have chosen to wait for Barcelona to unveil their newest flagships to the world.

Take Huawei, for example.

You know what we like here at Android Police? Solid information. Earlier today, we reported on an alleged render of the HTC M7 that looked a little 'close-but-not-quite'. For starters, that image is not exactly the M7. But a helpful tipster decided to help us clarify some things today, by providing real images of something that more than likely is the M7.

We've been seeing a flurry of photos recently and this to be the most legitimate one yet.

Ah, after CES we were beginning to wonder when we'd get our next flurry of conflicting rumors. Today's comes in the form of what is being called an official render of the HTC M7. Trouble is, it's not. For starters, PocketNow claims that they're not made by anyone within the company, however according to someone who 'has access' to a photo of the handset, the front looks about right.

Just yesterday, an LG rep let us know that, among other things, the "G" branding would continue to be representative of the company's top-tier hardware. Today, we get a glimpse at what the next great handset could look like. This leaked slide shows off the LG Optimus G Pro with a gorgeous 5" 1080p display, a gargantuan 3,000 mAh battery, a gratuitous Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, and a glorious 13-megapixel rear camera.

You know, for an underdog, Pantech has been proving it knows how to put out some pretty decent, affordable hardware as of late. Just two days ago, it unearthed the upcoming Discover for AT&T, and now a leak of what appears to be the VZW equivalent – the Perception – just showed up in a leak over at Unwired View.

1

Much like it's Big Blue-powered cousin, the Perception is said to be packing a 720p display and 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4.

With CES coming up next month, we're starting to see more and more leaks that will likely materialize on the tradeshow floor. It looks like Chinese site Chip Hell has gotten its hands on one of NVIDIA's little secrets: the Tegra 4, which is codenamed Wayne.

1

The T4 looks to trump its predecessor in every way - much like the T3 did the T2. It uses the same 4-PLUS-1 core configuration as the Tegra 3, but it does so in a 28nm package - making it not only faster, but more energy efficient, as well.

Let the battle of super-high-res phones begin! HTC may have started something with its 440PPI-packing Droid DNA/Butterfly, but it certainly won't be the last to do it; in fact, we've already seen other offerings start to pop up. The newest leak comes to us from Russian site Mobile-Review, and it highlights basically everything you could possibly want to know about Sony's upcoming 1080p flaghship, internally known as the Yuga.

The specs prove that Sony means business with the Yuga, as it's definitely nothing to scoff at:

  • 5" 1080p display
  • Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro
  • 2GB RAM
  • microUSB, micorHDMI, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, NFC, and LTE
  • microSD card slot with support for up to 128GB cards (!)
  • Android 4.1.2
