Google Adds Probable Android 4.4 Screenshot To Keyboard Update, Shows New Status Bar With Gray Icons And KLP Debug Icon

Google is juggling a lot of things right now. It's really not realistic to expect no one in the company to ever make a mistake. Well, today's slip-up is to our advantage. The most recent update to the Korean keyboard IME in Google Play contains a new screenshot which appears to be from Android 4.4 KitKat.

Themendous Is The Company That Makes Google's Android Statues, Here's How They Made The Latest 'KitKat' One

Every time Google pushes out a new version of Android, they lift up a new statue in front of the Googleplex commemorating whichever sweet desert serves as the current codename. When the company revealed Android 4.4 yesterday and its codename "KitKat," they released a photo of the new statue standing in front of similar ones for Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich, Honeycomb, Gingerbread, etc. Those statues are all made by the same company, Themendous, and those fine folks have released photos documenting the creation of the latest statue.

KitKat Shows Off New Features Of 'KitKat 4.4', The Future Of Confectionery

If you missed out on the ruckus Google caused this morning, here's a quick briefing: the upcoming version will not be 5.0, nor will it be called Key Lime Pie. Instead, it's 4.4 KitKat. No joke – this is legit. Sundar Pichai even put a picture of the new statue up on Twitter and G+. This is happening.

Google Announces Android 4.4 KitKat Along With Nexus 7 Giveaway

As soon as Android head Sundar Pichai tweeted the image of a KitKat-themed Android statue on the lawn at Google, it was on. The official KitKat twitter account got in on the fun, and the Android KitKat website went live with a confirmation that it was indeed going to be Android KitKat. What's more, this is not Android 5.0. This is 4.4.
