AT&T Brings Back 2010, Announces The Samsung Nexus S

In a move that feels oddly reminiscent of Verizon announcing the iPhone (read: announcing a nearly year old device), AT&T just told the world that it would be getting the Samsung Nexus S, which is immediately available for pre-order from Best Buy for $99 with a two-year agreement.

This version of the Nexus S is lacking HSPA+, which makes it exactly like the T-Mobile version that landed in December of last year. Don't get me wrong - the Nexus S is a good phone, and the only device currently on store shelves that runs pure vanilla Gingerbread, but I just find it a bit hard to get excited about a device that's already been on the market for quite a while.

Samsung Conquer, Motorola Photon 4G To Hit Sam's Club Sales Floor In July

According to a leaked shot from Sam's Club that fell into the hands of Android Central, we should expect Samsung's newest Sprint device, the Conquer, to hit the streets on July 24th. The Conquer is a mid-ranger with modest specs:

  • 3.5 inch 320x480 display
  • 1Ghz single-core Snapdragon
  • 3.2MP rear shooter, 1.3MP front camera
  • Android 2.3

Also expected in July is the Motorola Photon 4G - but there is no exact release date as of yet. The Photon packs a much harder punch than the Conquer, coming jam packed with a 4.3 inch display, 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 processor, 1GB RAM, 8MP rear camera, VGA front cam, 16GB of on-board storage, a kickstand, Webtop, WiMax, all running on Android 2.3.
