[Rumor] Amazon May Be Ready To Launch Its Appstore In Europe Very Soon

So far, Amazon's Appstore, which competes with Google's own Play Store on Android apps, has been stuck within U.S. borders. A report from All Things D, however, says that may be about to change soon. The online retail company, the site says, is preparing to launch in Europe. No details on when beyond "later this summer" were available.

All Things D speculates that this might herald the arrival of the Kindle Fire, however it also rightly points out that launching a device in a new country is more complicated than launching a software storefront.

[Deal Alert] Unlocked Black GSM HTC One X Available On eBay Daily Deals For $557

Until the Galaxy S III comes out, the One X is the phone that's stealing all the spotlights. eBay Daily Deals is offering an unlocked One X for $557, the lowest price we've seen yet. This device is a GSM quadband model that supports AT&T 3G stateside (no LTE, though). Once again, no T-Mobile 3G.

2012-05-19_13h52_11

The device is available just for today and is only available in black. Keep in mind, since this is the international version, the device is packing the quad-core Tegra 3 that overseas readers are accustomed to, not the dual-core, but still impressive S4 Krait processor AT&T's One X (known as the One XL overseas) is carrying.

Specifically, those of you who travel to Asia or Australia will find the app particularly useful, but everyone who's about to leave their 20 square mile home area should take a look. Google Currents is probably the single best-looking Android app Google puts out, and since its initial release, it has also been so slow to sync that it's practically useless. • Sync speed - dramatic (7x) performance boost
  • Instant online sync - no need to press "sync". Just open an edition for latest content.
