The reading of Friday's verdict was no doubt an intense moment for just about everyone interested in the mobile tech world. Apple swept up decisions for $1.049 Billion in damages, Samsung was denied its claims against Apple across the board by the nine-person California jury, and both sides immediately released impassioned responses to the decision, calling on the feelings of spectators and case-long mantras that kept onlookers from both sides in rapt attention.

Google, which has stayed mum throughout most of the Apple v Samsung proceedings, spoke up today. The Mountain View giant released a statement significantly more even-handed than that of either Samsung or Apple, though from Google's perspective, the decision is (rightly) perceived as an entirely non-cataclysmic event.

I bet you never thought you'd read so many rumors about gift cards! Well, if our latest tipster's info is accurate, you won't be hearing them much longer. According to an internal image sent to us, the gift cards should be ready to hit store shelves on August 26th. The leak comes from internal systems at Target which, a certain eagle-eyed commenter has pointed out, would not be the first time we've seen a leak from this company.

According to this information, the gift card displays should have a couple empty slots until the Play Store cards arrive. While it's entirely possible that Google intended to launch them a bit earlier—the code in the Play Store apk and the high number of leaks could raise an eyebrow—it's idle speculation at best.

The Droid 4 is the latest iteration in the venerable Droid series. Sporting Motorola's new trademark slightly octagon-ish shape, a 1.2Ghz dual-core processor, LTE, and an 8MP rear-shooter, this device brings the Droid series into the world of the future yet again. That future starts February 10th, if this leaked internal Verizon document is to be believed.

An anonymous, but trusted, source sent us this doc from Verizon's internal equipment guide that shows the Droid 4 will launch via all channels February 10th, 2012. Previous rumors have suggested a February 9th release date, and either date is plausible considering Verizon tends to prefer either Thursday or Friday device launches.
